My Dear Ethan,
?I am reflecting on an incident that occurred last week when you boarded the school bus. It was disheartening to witness the tears streaming down your face upon discovering that your friend Shreyan was seated next to someone else. I understand the significance of your daily ritual, where you occupy the window seat and Shreyan takes the aisle, a tradition since the inception of your friendship. It must have been a profound moment of sadness to see that pattern disrupted.
The camaraderie formed by sitting side by side with a friend, sharing laughter and creating childhood memories is something I acknowledge and value. It's a precious aspect of life that leaves an indelible mark on one's heart. I remember mentioning in a previous note about the transient nature of life, the inevitability of change and hence, the importance of embracing solitude.
Life is fragile, my love, and people will come and go. Positions shift, and we must learn to adapt. I encourage you to understand the beauty of solitude. It is not a necessity to be surrounded by friends at all times. Learning to be alone is a crucial and important skill that will serve you well in the future. Amidst the constant influx of information, the presence of gadgets and the company of friends, finding moments of solitude is essential for introspection and focusing on your goals.
I recall the wise words of Virat Kohli, who once said he is content with not having many friends, as it allows him ample time to concentrate on his game. As you grow older, you'll come to appreciate the importance of solitude. Remember, you are born to pursue your dreams relentlessly, and being comfortable in your own company will enable you to navigate life's challenges with a calm mind.
While cherishing the joyous moments with friends is essential, don't view moments of solitude as a cause for sorrow. Consider them opportunities gifted by the Universe. A quiet mind allows for deep thinking, dreaming big and problem-solving. Embrace these moments, my dear, for they are a chance for personal growth.
Until then, relish your daily bus ride to school and know that you are loved beyond measure.
With all my love,
Papa
