“There is power in numbers and strength in community.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
This week, you might have felt a whirlwind of emotions—grief, anger, confusion, or exhaustion. Whatever you’re carrying, know this: it’s okay to feel it all. Before we mobilize, we must first allow ourselves to process what is happening.
But processing, finding strength and sustaining ourselves isn’t meant to happen in isolation. Nature teaches us this. Look at birds—when they face turbulence or fatigue, they flock together, taking turns leading and lifting one another through the winds. In the same way, we process, find strength, and sustain ourselves best when we lean into each other.
Flocking Together: The Power of Being in Community When we gather to bear witness to each other’s experiences, we create a space for healing and transformation. Just as a flock moves as one, lifting each other in flight, our collective care allows us to feel seen, supported, and stronger.
Here’s how you can embrace both self-care and community care this week:
1. Feel Your Feelings in Safety Processing starts with acknowledging the emotions within you. Allow yourself to cry, laugh, rage, or reflect—whatever you need in this moment. Let it out, knowing you’re held by the collective strength of your community.
2. Reach Out, Don’t Isolate If you’re tempted to retreat into isolation, remind yourself of the flock waiting to hold space for you. Whether it’s a trusted friend, a group chat, or a virtual gathering, reach out. Let others be your witness, your sounding board, and your support.
3. Build or Join Safe Spaces Healing doesn’t have to look grand. It could be a quiet coffee meetup, a group walk in the park, or a Zoom call to simply sit together. These spaces are where hope grows, even when words fail us.
4. Take Turns Leading and Supporting Like a flock in flight, sometimes you lead, and sometimes you rest. Offer your presence and encouragement when you can, and allow others to do the same for you when you need to rest. This is the beauty of collective care—it’s a shared rhythm of giving and receiving.
Being together reminds us that even in the heaviest moments, we are not alone. We are part of something larger—something powerful.

Here's a short 5-minute video about flocking and healing in community.
Let’s reflect on how we can rise together, step by step, to support one another and find our way forward.
Take a moment today to reach out to someone who might need to hear, “I’m here for you.” Small gestures build unshakable bridges.
When you’re ready, the flock will be here, ready to fly with you.
In Solidarity,
Ruby
Anger, often dismissed or suppressed, is actually a powerful force for truth, action, and change. In this session, we’ll explore how to harness anger as a tool for setting boundaries, creating change, and embracing your inner warrior.
Learn how to channel your fire constructively to face injustice, clarify your values, and fuel your growth. Together, we’ll honor anger not as a weakness but as a strength to empower and align us in these pivotal moments. Register for the Zoom link here.
