YOU ARE ALIVE

Do we all have to do something to feel that we are alive? You know why people get depressive, because society's pressure about feeling alive is very wrong and stressful actually. Some of the life coaches will mess with me after reading this article, but most of the time they are the one advising you “do something, climb the Everest, that way you will feel alive!”

Do we have to do something to feel alive? Can't you feel alive without doing anything? Now you will read in here something totally different. I will advise you just live and be okay with it. Once I wrote a funny poem, in a nutshell I said “whether you do something or not, life is going on!”

I understood something from this life, it is really going on, whether you climb the Everest or stay at home, read a book or watch a movie, it will continue to go on. You cannot be happy until you stop regretting the days when you did nothing. I know you feel bad when you watch the social media, probably someone visited Paris before you, another one pictures herself on the Chinese wall, and you sit here and like these photos with sadness.

What if you thought, life is life and never regret about anything? What if you first learn to enjoy your every moments even if you don't do anything. Do you have to connect with people, meet your friends, have parties, yoga classes, meditation groups, go to India to learn the meaning of life?

Maybe life is just beautiful even if it is matching 100% with the movie Groundhog Day. We all loved that movie, because it was motivating us to do something. But in the mean time, it gave us a great amount of grief. Because it is warning you that, if you just live your life as it is, you are repeating the same day over and over again.

What if you were so tired from society's bullshit? What if you just wanted to rest your soul until you die? What if you only enjoyed your coffee while watching outside! Do we all have to be wealthy, do we all have to be athletic, do we all have to be in love with our jobs, do we all have to be explorers, do we all have to be famous? What if life was just life?

Bravo to you if you made paragliding! Well, it is not for me, I don't like heights! Do you want to go visit the Amazon? Good luck, no thanks, I don't want to come with you, because I don't wanna possibly be food for an anaconda! Hey, now you think I am negative! No, I am not negative, I just don't want to do what you do. Sometimes true desires are not physical but they are mental achievements.

If you need to do something to be happy, you are doomed! You need something from outside to give you pleasure and fulfillment. That means, if you don't have peace in your heart and in your mind, you cannot stay in peace all alone. You will always crave for something to entertain you! Your happiness will depend on the external world.

We are all different, but most of us suffer from anxiety. Do you know why? Because we force our capacity to match with “living a fulfilled life until we die.” Maybe you believe the only way to learn about life is to go visit all over the world, or rush your blood with adrenaline and dopamine through extreme sports. But hey, when you need an advice about happiness, you find this adviser on top of the mountain, perhaps he is a Tibetan monk, who never experienced what you did! He stayed in his temple, sat all day long, just stayed still with mindfulness. If you could reach the understanding of life by moving non-stop, the monk would have to ask you about the meaning of life, not you to him.

But when you need to know the meaning of life you go to someone who is a guru or a monk, who never came out from his village!

Do not regret about your beautiful Groundhog Days. Life is life, whatever you do, do not regret. The moment you enjoy your most cliche day, you will truly enjoy your life. The point about a good life is creating your own mindfulness. Let them climb mountains, let them have their concerts, let them love over and over again, let them have parties, let them have a dozen children, let them take meditation and yoga classes, let them go out every Friday and Saturday night, let them take dance classes. You don't have to do what they do.

You really wanna feel alive? Then be sure you are a good person, you are kind, you have a clean mind and a beautiful heart. You wanna be happy, learn to love yourself, learn to forgive yourself, learn to forgive in your mind the people who hurt you, learn appreciation, stop holding in your mind bad memories, stop trying to impress people, stop trying to hold toxic people and relationships in your life, stop even trying to smile in all your pictures, stop judging people. Try to be happy by living without any bad habits, any addictions, any cravings, any attachments. Free your soul, you are at home, this is your republic, your democracy, your freedom. Don't regret about not doing anything. Take your coffee, look at the same buildings everyday.

Even if you feel your day is always the same, the weather changes, the people change on the street, the songs you listen change, the books, the movies change, the food you eat changes. Actually nature never allows you to experience the same day over and over again. If you are happy with your repeating days, you will be so happy with your different days, with your friends' surprises, your holidays and so on... Stop being worried about your day, stop saying yourself “I didn't do anything today!” No you did, your body did, your mind did, nature did. When you enjoy your ordinary days, you will enjoy your holidays even more!

Remember, nobody goes to the Great Wall of China or the Eiffel Tower in Paris and stays there forever. Actually, these moments are rare. Even if you climb the Everest, it will take a few days. Nobody lives their life as fulfilled as the movie Groundhog Day is pointing out. You don't have that much money, you don't have the same health, you don't even have that much energy!

The moment you stop regretting about your ordinary days, you will feel that finally you are alive!
