ARE YOU AFRAID OF GUNS?

ARE YOU AFRAID OF GUNS?

OR MORE AFRAID OF BEING A VICTIM? BUT JUST DO NOT KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT GETTING GREAT TRAINING!

There are a lot of people out there that are basically and simply afraid of guns due to the news and lack of proper education and training.

Some people have tried to get training and didn’t feel comfortable with the person they contacted.

There are a ton of reasons but as trainers we need to be the example of how to professionally handle ourselves and interaction with others so we can ultimately and genuinely help them.

Our intention is to educate people on more effective training to build confidence and help remove fear without removing the “Common Sense” aspects of handling firearms.

ASK QUESTIONS:

One of the best questions I ask a person who is afraid of guns is in the following format just to see if they are open minded enough to listen and compare.

Here is a simple role play model for your review.

  1. Do you drive a car?
  2. Typically this answer is yes!
  3. So I respond with have you ever got in your car at night or really during anytime and just threw your keys in the ignition and shifted it into gear really without thinking about it?
  4. Typically this answer is Yes! Then I ask why is that?
  5. Typically the answer is because I have done it over and over and it is an automatic response.
  6. So are you scared when you do that?
  7. Typically the answer is no!
  8. Ok great, now if I can show you safe ways to practice with a firearm so you build that same “Muscle Memory” would be interested in learning without firing a shot or even using a real gun?
  9. Then if you like it we can move on to a range with a real gun?
  10. Oh by the way “Muscle Memory” is the same thing you developed in learning how to put your keys in the ignition and shift the car into gear without thinking about!

At this point the conversation goes a few different ways;

  1. No not interested in anything you have to say which validates their inability to be open minded.
  2. Interested sometimes comes with a question; So you can teach me to be fluent with a gun much like the way I drive my car? Our answer is yes…then with the right amount of practice even with the gun unloaded and a few trips to the range after our initial training which we can also do multiple training sessions at your request it is up to you. We don’t expect you to train as often as you have driven in your life but the old saying is a professional basketball player has spent in excess of 10,000 hours training to get at that level it all depends on what you want and are comfortable with and our expectation of you is just to try and see how it goes. Never know you may even really enjoy it and enjoy the fact that you could help save yourself, a family member, friend or someone in your community or sphere of influence. Do not be afraid I have taught many people many different ages and I have patience to help you and I do not give up on a friend! ( The basis of this is by now you have established some rapport with the person so they get the idea you are genuinely trying to help them Thus you are not just a training number but a person) By the way I have trained my daughter to shoot my 9mm Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm and my AR15 which looks like a military rifle. Would you like to see the basic videos of that and a few things so you can make a comfortable decision?

This was their first time shooting , they did great and it was fun!

There are also some helpful tips that you can do with a Real gun while placing a laser bore sighter in the barrel and or a airsoft replica gun as well.

You can do all of this prior to firing a shot with a real gun, that way you can build up your confidence at your pace and feel so relieved when it comes to the actual training, just like sticking your keys in the ignition and putting your car into drive.

These are “Our Daily Bread” Course videos, these you can practice at home with the firearm –Airsoft replica gun unloaded just to get accustomed to handling your firearm much like putting the keys into the ignition!

ODBP1 Pistol Draw this is simply and safely drawing your firearm from your holster to insure you don’t shoot yourself in the foot or leg. Keys in the car!

ODBP2 Laser Pistol this is simply learning how to naturally aim and start developing the “Muscle memory” keys in the car! Putting it into drive!

OBDP3 Behind Cover this video here is a good example on how to use your surroundings say if someone breaks into you house or you need to position yourself behind a car or other object. This is driving home from work!

ODBP4 Pistol Laser MovingTargetSystem this is using our Moving target system to help reduce developing tunnel vision which we will go into in more detail later. But this will help you instinctively adapt your skills to target acquisition, also learning on moving targets is a lot of fun and much more challenging so we figure why limit yourself when you are learning! Now you have moved up from the Chevette to the Corvette in car terms! So you are making Chevette payments for Corvette training!

ODBP5 Flanking Pistol Live Fire This video is simply how to be around a bad situation when there are innocent bystanders or as we refer to it Passengers in the Car!

Thank you for reviewing this information, we look forward to having you in our training course. Keep in mind all of these videos are done in 1 day of training after you do the initial training at home prior to class so that way you have a good idea, this is exactly what we do in class. The only difference is we give you a bit of direction in some simple things like stance, trigger pull, accuracy, bullet accountability while having some respectful fun and making the activity enjoyable! So you more than likely will say “Now this is my new Hobby” and the cool part is it keeps you active!

Feel free to call me if you have any questions or still feel a bit apprehensive!

I look forward to your call and believe me everyone has questions and I have a ton of patience because to me I LOVE TEACHING PEOPLE HOW TO HELP THEMSELVES in possibly bad situations but God forbid you ever have to use this training at least we both know we did the best we could to be prepared.

I am french and proudly against gun ban - if the gun users and weapons are all registered and sold in official shop with licensing it shall not be a problem as gun used for murders or robber are undeclared gun, no one would be stupid to shoot someone with a gun that had his name on it (we can find a gun with just a shot bullet thanks to the thing that hit the bottom of the round and the barrel spiral , i dunno the name in english)
