Are you actually making an impact?

Are you actually making an impact?

Do you ever feel like you’re running a marathon on a treadmill? You’re putting in the effort, but sometimes it feels like you’re not getting anywhere. As successful business owners, we often find ourselves wondering, ‘am I really making an impact?'

Well, it’s now time to step off that treadmill and take a closer look at what’s going on.

What’s all this about ‘impact’?

Impact is that magical word that goes beyond just hitting targets and raking in profits. It’s about the footprint you leave on your team, your clients, and even yourself. But measuring impact can be tricky, unless you have a specific tool in your toolbox that can do just that…

Enter The GC Index

This is the secret sauce that can help you figure out your impact – The GC Index . It’s a People and Organisation Assessment tool that provides a language and framework to align the impact and contribution of people to business processes and outcomes.

Based on a high-level business cycle, the GC Index identifies a person's potential for impact, which can then be used in multiple ways across the business to drive decisions and achieve incredible results.

The Five Proclivities

  1. Game Changer: These folks are the visionaries. They come up with ideas that can flip the business on its head – in a good way, of course. Game Changer’s are energised by what’s possible and creating an exciting future?
  2. Strategist: The masterminds who turn those wild ideas into feasible plans. They’re the ones mapping out the path while everyone else is still admiring the view. Strategists are expect at making sense of the ideas and using their pragmatic nature to lean on patterns and predictions of the past to create a roadmap the business can get behind?
  3. Implementer: These are the doers. They roll up their sleeves and get things done. Without them, those plans would stay on the whiteboard forever. They’re the backbone of getting projects off the ground and experts at using their practical and productive nature to make things happen?
  4. Polisher: Ever met someone who’s never satisfied with ‘good enough’? That’s the Polisher. They refine, tweak, and perfect until that thing is absolutely brilliant. Progress is of paramount importance to a Polisher, in their pursuit of excellence and creating a future to be proud of
  5. Play Maker: The glue that holds it all together. They’re the team players who focus on the people in the business, ensuring everyone is working in harmony and committed to achieving its goals. Play Makers have a knack for bringing out the best in everyone but don’t be fooled - they’ll also call you out if you’re not performing, so they can help get you back on track

What impact are YOU making?

To answer that, let’s play a game. Ask yourself these 3 questions:

  • Is your team performing a 10/10 performance, or is there room for improvement?
  • Do you have complete confidence that your team can deliver your business priorities?
  • Do you spend your days in your zone of genius, doing what only you can do? Or do you get dragged into things that should be dealt with without you needing to be involved?

If you’re not answering with a resounding ‘yes!’ to these questions, it might be time to dig deeper…

Putting the GC Index to work

Here’s the beauty of the GC Index – it’s not just a tool, it’s a roadmap. By understanding the strengths of the individuals in your team and how they can best contribute to the priorities of your business, you can start to see real, tangible impact.
