Are You Able to Give From the Overflow?

Ready to design a business that allows you to GIVE from the overflow of abundance?

Since COVID started, many well-meaning experts I've spoken to have been wanting to price their services (courses and programs) lower to support people who have financially suffered from the pandemic...

Their hearts are in the right place.

But pricing services lower just because SOME people may not be able to afford the full value of their service is a strategy miss.

So I guide them towards a better solution.

I love helping my clients develop and implement strategies where they can both serve those in need AND be fairly compensated for their wisdom and expertise.

My 3 favorite strategies for this are (all start with charging full price for the core services) - in order from simplest to most complex:

1. Set aside a % of revenue to offer scholarships to those in need. This is perfect for those who want a simple solution and want to make one-off needs-based exceptions.

2. Create a fully automated course version of your hybrid course offering. While I don't usually recommend creating fully automated courses (because it's very difficult to get great results through those), this is a case of serving people who otherwise wouldn't have access to you at all. The thesis is - some support is better than no support. A key here is to create a sustainable business based on the hybrid course model and use the digital modules created for (and tested on) those clients to be the low-priced automated ones.

3. Create a non-profit arm that offers discounted services for those in need. This is a bigger project and is perfect for those who are really driven by service and are willing to invest time and energy into creating this. An important piece of this strategy is to have your core business be efficient and profitable so that you have excess time and energy (and $) to devote to the charitable aspect. This is truly giving from the overflow of the abundance your core business creates.

If you've been feeling called to serve those who can't afford your full-priced work - what strategies have you found most appealing?

What is your next step to making that a reality?

I'd love for you to send me a message and let me know.

I have always loved the scholarship route. Jane, do you have any suggestions around applications for scholarships? I have seen some that have an application process and others that it is mentioned in an enrolment/discovery call if the only real objection is affordability.
