YooperSticks Entrepreneurial Checkpoint #1

YooperSticks Entrepreneurial Checkpoint #1

Over the past two weeks, our team has made fantastic strides in achieving our Sprint goals. We've focused heavily on creating a plan to boost sales and gather customer feedback, while also familiarizing ourselves with our new product.

Special thanks to Ethan Jankowski for his dedication to improving our Shopify site, making it run smoother for all users. Alongside that, our team has been hard at work developing new advertising styles which Ethan has been editing, and we’re currently working on updating all product photography—stay tuned for updates at YooperSticks.com!

Shout-out to Wylie Mease for crafting three new sets of Yooper Sticks and helping us partner with Redstart Construction to showcase our product at a live event. The opportunity to engage potential customers through gameplay was invaluable to our team as well as selling our first set this year. In addition to the past event we showcased at, Wylie has officially set up another Yooper Day to get feedback on the game.

Personally, my main focus during this Sprint was developing a marketing plan, Cash Flow Document, and gathering insights from business experts. A big thank you to Benjamin McEvoy , founder of Benji Ball, and Steven Orzech Jr for their impactful meetings. Their insights have sparked new ideas on how we can expand our customer base and boost sales. As a team when we reflected on both meetings we decided that we wanted to try wood burning for a more aesthetic look as well as reach out to small pop up shops in Northern Michigan in attempt to sell through small stores.

Moving forward, we’re excited to use our new idea of wood-burning techniques and color themes into future sets, enhancing the design of each product. I have recently been watching videos on how to complete the process in order to guarantee high quality results.

In all, the YooperSticks team has accomplished a lot in this Sprint, and I couldn’t be more proud. We’re eager to keep growing and excited to see what the future holds!
