The Yogscast are playing for a better world

I recently wrote about speedrunners from Games Done Quick who have been gaming for charity. Other than large communities like that one, there are also smaller gaming content creation groups such as The Yogscast doing their bit for charity. They don’t have any famous streamers, but they have a wider spectrum of games and spend much more time broadcasting. Their charity event, Jingle Jam 2018, has already reached 2.62 million hours viewed by the end of last month/start of this one.

The Yogscast Jingle Jam is a month-long fundraiser with donations going to several charitable organizations. In the eighth year of its existence, this month’s event is donating to: Stand Up To Cancer; Whale and Dolphin Conservation; Special Effect; The Grand Appeal; Mental Health Foundation; War Child; and The Call of Duty Endowment.

Donate from $5 to $35 with Humble Bundle and receive games and other content. During last year’s event donations totaled more than $5.2 million from nearly 150k contributors, and this year the event already has mustered up over $2.3 million for charity.

We can only admire what these guys are doing and their desire to really help people! The fact that there are many gaming groups out there with such initiatives really puts a smile on your face. We at GNation want to see how gamers can and acrete impact not only by events but actually every day, every hour, every second! I’m sure that the community will support us and we can help more and more!
