Yoga: A New Possibility

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

Let’s imagine for a moment…that we are a living.. breathing batteries. With every interaction, every breath, every morsel of food… we are either charging up or discharging. This cosmic energy that flows through us, charging our batteries is Prana. And understanding how to receive, cultivate… share this energy might just be the key to unlocking your fullest potential.

The Birth of a Pranic Being

"Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be changed from one form to another." - Albert Einstein

We enter this world already pulsing with prana. Like a newborn star…each of us bursts onto the scene with our own unique energetic signature. But unlike stars…our pranic luminosity isn't fixed. It's a dynamic, ever-changing force that waxes and wanes throughout our lives.

Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, a Japanese scientist and Shinto priest who dedicated his life to studying the intersection of spirituality and science, once said, "The human body is not just a physical structure made of molecules; it is also an energy field operating on multiple dimensions." This energy field, this pranic blueprint…is our starting point. But it's far from our final destination.

The Pranic Diet: You Are What You Absorb

"Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food." - Hippocrates

Now…let's talk about feeding our pranic body. Just as our physical body needs nourishment…our energy body craves pranic sustenance. So let’s look at what are the sources of Prana..?

The air we breathe, charged with negative ions after a thunderstorm. The water we drink, especially if it's fresh from a mountain spring. The food we eat, vibrant with the sun's energy. Even the ground beneath your feet, pulsing with the Earth's magnetic field. All of these are pranic buffets…waiting for us to partake.

But the quality matters. As the renowned nutritionist Ann Wigmore put it, "The food you eat can be either the safest and most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison." The same goes for prana.?

A diet of processed foods…polluted air, and electromagnetic smog…is something like charging your phone with a frayed cable. We might get a bit of juice…but we’re far from operating at our full capacity.

The Alchemist Within: Transforming Energy

"The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the fundamental emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science." - Albert Einstein

Here's where it gets really interesting. We are not just passive receivers of prana. We are alchemists, capable of transforming and refining this energy.

Take the concept of energy transmutation, for instance.. which is the conscious redirection of our energy into creative and spiritual pursuits. This is prana in action…being refined and elevated.

Or consider the yogic practice of pranayama. These aren't just breathing exercises…they're sophisticated techniques for pranic cultivation. Breath is the bridge which connects life to consciousness, which unites our body and mind.?

The Yogi's Battery: Storing Prana

Now.. imagine a Yogi.. sitting in deep meditation in a Himalayan cave. To the untrained eye, they might appear to be doing nothing. But energetically…they’re a powerhouse, a human battery storing immense amounts of refined prana.

This isn't just ancient wisdom. Modern research is catching up. Dr. Joe Dispenza, a neuroscientist and author… has conducted brain scans on long-term meditators. Astounding levels of coherence and energy are revealed in the brain of those…who have dug deep into the subtle dimensions of Prana. As Dispenza puts it, "Where you place your attention is where you place your energy."

The Art of Pranic Generosity

The most powerful weapon on earth is the human soul on fire." - Ferdinand Foch

And now we come to the beautiful paradox of prana: the more we give, the more we seem to have. It's like the act of sharing itself… generates more energy.

Think of someone you know who seems to light up a room just by entering it. Someone whose presence makes you feel more alive…more energized. Chances are…you're experiencing their pranic overflow.?

As the Indian teacher Jiddu Krishnamurti once said, "The highest form of human intelligence is to observe yourself without judgment."

These individuals, often without even realizing it.. are engaged in a form of pranic healing. They're not depleting themselves by sharing… they're amplifying their own energy through the act of giving. It's a beautiful…self-reinforcing cycle.

?The Pranic Path Forward

"We are all connected; To each other, biologically. To the earth, chemically. To the rest of the universe atomically." - Neil deGrasse Tyson

So where does this leave us…We're pranic beings in a pranic universe, constantly engaged in an energetic dance of give and take. Every thought, every action…every interaction is an opportunity to refine and elevate our pranic state.

The choices are ours. We can nourish ourselves with high-quality prana… or settle for energy depleting food and other sources. We can learn to store and cultivate our energy… becoming human batteries capable of illuminating our lives and of those around us. We can give generously of our pranic overflow…and create a ripple effect of vitality and wellbeing.?

As the poet Rumi said,it "You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean in a drop." In pranic terms… we are not just a recipient of the universe's energy. We are that energy, individualized and self-aware.

Let’s take a deep breath. Feel the prana flowing within us, through us and from us. We are more powerful than we may know. The question is… what do we want to do with that power?
