Great people driving the digital transformation of the leading chemical company
Our Digital Hub Madrid is made up of talented and hard-working individuals and there is no better way to get to know who we are, than by meeting them. For this reason, we have created a new series of articles called ′′???? ?????? ???????? - ???? ??????...′′ where we will be introducing some of our members, showing who they are, what they do, and how they think.
For our next article, we want to introduce you to?Daniel Ramos Vilardell, a?Global RPA Engineer?at our Digital Hub Madrid.
Tell us a bit about yourself:
I like to think of myself as a "World Citizen" - I have lived in four countries: Spain, Venezuela, Panamá, and Sweden. In the future I would like to increase this list. Also, I mostly love to spend my free time being outdoors either hiking, traveling, or bouldering, but I also have indoor hobbies such as watching movies and playing the guitar.
Can you tell us about why you decided to build your career at BASF?
I decided to build my career at BASF when the Digital Hub Madrid was just starting... I was and am still excited about being part of the creation of the Hub and I see it as one of the biggest opportunities of my life. Being part of BASF has allowed me to learn about different technologies, cultures, and to develop my soft skills. Being part of such a big organization that trains, specializes and develops their employees in different technologies and allows them to become a part of projects, such as the creation of the Madrid Hub, is an exciting opportunity for anyone.
What are some of the challenges that you have faced, in your career, thus far?
The challenges that we all face in the technology industry are: staying up to date with technologies as they are developing and changing as fast as you are mastering your expertise on it (fast changing environment), to acquire new skills, and to work with people located all around the world (due to different time zones).
What are the three main advantages or opportunities that you see working at the Digital Hub Madrid?

What recommendation would you give to someone starting out in the IT industry?
I would recommend staying up to date, never stop learning and don't forget about people - we work with computers but we aren't computers, build relationships, talk to people and never be afraid to ask!
