Yo Quiero Dinero! Our Stories have value!

I am thrilled to share a recap of our ?Yo Quiero Dinero! Event held on June 15th, 2024. Your presence and support made this day unforgettable and impactful.

We welcomed over 140 attendees to the MyArts Theater, creating a vibrant and intergenerational gathering of community members.

I was personally proud to see everyone, including mamas, esposos, and amigos, come together to celebrate and empower the women of color in our community.

Notably, 45% of our attendees were either current entrepreneurs or considering starting their own businesses, highlighting our community's entrepreneurial spirit and ambition!

Event Highlights:

  • Keynote Address by Dr. Xochitl Yadira Gonzalez, PhD. : Dr. González delivered a compelling testimony, sharing her journey from growing up in Wisconsin as a migrant worker to becoming una Doctora. Her insights into leadership and community empowerment were both inspiring and motivational, resonating deeply with all attendees.
  • Celebrating Local Heroes: We honored eight remarkable women from Dane County who have made significant contributions to our community:

Their stories of overcoming barriers such as abuse, isolation, mental health challenges, and economic disparities were deeply moving and a testament to their resilience and strength.

  • Signature Partners: A heartfelt thank you to our partner organizations, Artesan Fruit Decorations Eder Valle , Ginny's Sweets, Lucy's Flores, and our stage manager, Johnathan Delgado Delgado. Your support and contributions added a unique flavor and vibrancy to our event, making it a resounding success.

Eder's watermelons are a welcomed reflection!

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported this event.

Your enthusiasm and engagement were instrumental in making ?Yo Quiero Dinero! a transformative celebration of empowerment and community strength.

We look forward to continuing our journey together, supporting and uplifting each other as we strive for greater heights in our personal and professional lives.

Gracias a todos por su participación y apoyo.

Warm regards,
