Yo! It's my Birthday & Here are 29 Things I Have Learned in 29 years (Comes with GIVEAWAY at the end)

Happy birthday to me. I sincerely find it a wonder that yesterday marked the end of 365 days of living at my previous age and today, the beginning of another 365 days at age 29. What can I say? Time indeed waits for no man. I am grateful to God for this day. If I were to count the blessings and lessons I have garnered over the years, where shall I begin?

I have learned over the years that determination and willpower are two key attributes that will make a man sit and dine with kings. Little wonder in the book of Psalms, the Psalmist makes this declaration one of which I believe that the wealthiest of men will seek his favor. However, I have realized that even if one is meant to be both great and relevant, it doesn’t come from folding one’s hands or standing at Akimbo. This brings me to a key lesson – putting in the work.?

I don’t want to sound like I am a century old when l am just barely three decades old but if there is one thing I know, it is that one needs to put in the work. Some call it hard work, others, smart work but, whichever seems to resonate with you so long as you’re intentional about working on your goals, dreams, and passions, there will be light at the end of the tunnel only if you do not give up.?

You see, perseverance is a key quality that whoever desires to go far in life must imbibe. I say this because I can tell you for a certainty that I didn’t always get it right n my first attempts. Maybe this might sound cliché but I tell you, where there is a will, there is a way. So, you need to get going. I agree with the old saying that when the going gets tough, the tough get going. The question I put forward to you is this, how tough are you?

Whatever your response to the previous question was, I also hope you know that being tough is in no way implying you have the strength of a thousand men but even if you do, I must tell you that you still need men. The gift of men is one of the greatest things that you can pray for. I say this because I believe that when you have the right men in place and at your disposal, you automatically access resources and in some cases, even exceptions are made for you, and protocols are broken for your sake.?

People. Humans. I once had a friend joke about humans being the most complicated of all God’s creations. Do I blame him? Hell, no. It is what we both know. Humans are, permit me to use the word, complicated. As such, people management is a skill one must learn. You can’t do it all even if you had all the power in the world.?At some times you will need to learn from others and at other times, even inspire them.

You should be careful with those that you keep around too. While they may make you, never forget that they could mar you as well. However, it is in times of sorrow that these true ones (if you are lucky to have them) stick around. Shared joy is double joy and shared sorrow is half sorrow. Beware of sheep in wolves' clothing. Be wise yet cautious.?

Lest I forget, education is the best legacy, try not to fail at it. If peradventure you don’t do so well in your academics, endeavor not to fail in life. You might make up several excuses for failing in school, but in life, you have none. Not one solid excuse to fail. Build up life within, around, and even outside school. You will have your reward in full as the years go by.?

While there is a place for men (like the wonderful persons that make up my family), there is also a place for God, the author, and finisher of my faith. He has never failed and I believe he never will. Even when things didn’t turn out as expected, guess who came through for me? God. I believe he will for you too. He is always near.

Now, I say live long and live well. Don’t forget where, how, and why you started because sometimes those are what will keep you going. Keep your eyes on the prize and forge ahead like an athlete nearing the finish line. Finish well so that at the end of the day when you finally take a bow, you will be fulfilled.

1.??Become better at what you know and do.

2.??Be of value to people with what you do.

3.??Collaborate with individuals whose values align with yours.

4.??Focus on becoming an excellent person than being an excellence student & Keep repeating 1, 2, 3

5.??Learn to say No to temporary success at the expense of ultimate value.

6.??You must invest in others & give value to others.?

7.??Don’t stop adding value.?

8.??Understand how much your value is worth.?

9.??Deliver your value consistently?

10.??Increase your value by educating yourself as often as possible.

11.??Patience: No such thing as overnight success.?

12.??Persistence: Fall 7 times & get up 8 times.?

13.??Purpose: Live a purposeful life & have the drive to succeed.?

14.??Positivity: Always speak & think positively always, with no negative vibe!

15.??You need determination and willpower

16.??You need to put in the work to get what you want.?

17.??Value the gift of men.

18.??Stop getting fascinated by results & start embracing the process.

19.??Learn how to manage people and resources in your care.

??20.??The biggest returns in Life comes from volunteering & community service.?.

21.??Trust in God in all your ways.

??22.??Remember why you started.

??23.??Remain focused.?

??24.??Empathy : If you will be anything, be kind.?

??25.??Believe in yourself even while everyone is doubtful of you.

??26.??Understand the place of prayers.

??27.??Read wide and well, because readers are leaders?

??28.??Don’t stop learning and improving yourself.
