YES YOU CAN!!!
To AMRGians
SUB: YES YOU CAN
From the day this game (Secret Santa) was proposed in AMRG, I was perplexed over some unique gift.
I finally thought of giving a letter to all of you and here it goes.
First of all, on personal front. Life on this mortal world is outnumbered. We always believe that this is our world, which is a fallacy. Humans are tenants, lease of which would expire in less than 99 years. You are running towards a day when no one would be able to meet you or greet you, make most of the moments with everyone. You must balance this life between family, friends and YOURSELF. Take time out for yourself, often sit with yourself and talk to yourself. Never do something which ethically and morally wrong, even if you have to bear the brunt of thousands. Have an enriching personal life.
Secondly on professional front.
Every day is a new day, learn something new. You can learn something from everyone, but never believe that you can learn everything from someone. Find your passions and pursue it. We spend more than 60% of active life in profession, it is absolutely important to love what we do. If you can’t do what you love, then love what you do.
There would be days, when you have to show exceptional courage and accept an impossible challenge at office. Never lose that opportunity, go ahead do your best, don’t let the fear of failure deter you. Workday and night to towards this goal, it will give you sense of achievement and accomplishment which you can cherish for rest of your life. Hard work is important, burning mid-night oil is imperative, however doing it on a regular basis would make you a wasted sword. 8 – 10 hours of a regular and concentrated effort in profession is enough for a robust work life of 40 years. Life is a marathon and not a 100 meters of race. Fuel up yourself at every pit stop.
Do it yourself, if you want to do it fast – Give it to an able person if you want to do it long. Never be self-centric, always perform your duties at the best including nourishing the team with knowledge and experience and expect the same from your Boss. Always remember there is no alternative to work hard, but only working hard won’t suffice. Persistence, unceasing improvement and a clear vision are must ingredients too.
Never close on the flow of feedbacks, even if they are unpleasing. Never be afraid of Criticizers even though they tarnish you, rot you and soil you up, infact keep them close and lend an ear. Negative feedbacks would ensure culture of constant improvements.
In the next decade, there would be no takers for sub-optimal work quantity. Impeccable quality delivered through uncanny speed ensuring best possible customer satisfaction would earn you living.
This is what I have for you on this eve. Hope you are able to make most of it.
Your Secret Santa.
