Yes, the Person Speaking Before President El-Sisi Is My Younger Brother
Dr. Maher Abdelsamie
Founder of the Environmental Credit Score Foundation and YMEGY research and Development LLC | Human Rights Defender | Egyptian ????
Many may wonder how my younger brother, Mohamed Abdelsamie (PhD Candidate), can stand before President El-Sisi and the Egyptian Prime Minister, while I, an Egyptian scientist, inventor, and advocate for human rights, remain in exile, unable to return to my own country. Though my brother and I walk different paths, our lives remain profoundly interconnected by our shared heritage and dedication to Egypt. For journalists curious about this paradox, my story is one of unyielding dedication to a country I love, despite years of separation and personal hardship.
To begin, here are three videos of my younger brother, Mohamed Abdelsamie, speaking at key moments that highlight his public role in Egypt:

Why My Story Isn’t Easy to Tell
For those who know my work, this isn’t simply a story about invention or success; it’s about my refusal to weaponize my struggles against Egypt. I have lived in exile since 2010 due to my human rights advocacy following the January 25 Revolution, yet I will not allow my challenges to be used as leverage against my country. My love for Egypt is deeper than any single issue, and my purpose is to build, not tear down.
My refusal to turn personal hardship into political ammunition sets me apart from others who might leverage such narratives to advance personal agendas. This is why certain media outlets, political groups, and even nonprofits may find my story inconvenient: I do not fit into their vision, which often emphasizes division over unity.
Projects That Challenge the Status Quo—and Face Powerful Resistance
My recent achievements, including my third U.S. patent, are not just technological milestones. They reflect a deep-seated commitment to empowering individuals and creating positive change. Yet, the significance of projects like the Occupation Boycotting System and the Environmental Credit Scoring System (ECSS) is exactly why they face resistance from powerful players and why certain laws now threaten their application.
However, these systems contain anti-banning features that can still drive demand for products and services in other countries, incentivizing countries with restrictive laws to ultimately reconsider or even reverse such restrictions. The potential of these projects to create meaningful change in human rights and environmental protection is precisely what makes them controversial—and powerful.
Understanding Misrepresentations and Media Silence
One important thing to clarify is that many do not know my full story. If your information comes from members of other extremist groups or journalists associated with their networks, you may not be getting an accurate picture. I oppose their calls for revolution and criticize their intent to replicate an authoritarian regime in Egypt to serve their own agenda, which conflicts with my support for stability and constructive change. This opposition is precisely why they are unlikely to support publishing my story—it doesn’t align with their objectives.
I observed this clearly during the ongoing genocide in Palestine, where some supporters of extremist ideologies responded only to content that avoided calls for stability. Their interest often lies in promoting revolutionary discourse and advancing their agenda rather than in supporting a vision of progress that builds on Egypt's existing foundation.
Through my research on climate change , I came to a stark realization: the global powers most responsible for climate change pose an existential threat to humanity. These same powers, while publicly advocating for human rights and sustainability, often act in ways that prioritize their dominance and resources over genuine global welfare. This hypocrisy is further underscored by their involvement in human rights abuses in impoverished nations and their support of ongoing genocide in Palestine. They frequently profess a commitment to human rights while supporting actions that contradict these principles.
Another factor behind the limited coverage of my story is the role some major powers play in selectively leveraging human rights as a political tool. These powers often use human rights issues to justify sanctions and pressure other nations into compliance with their interests, framing human rights to serve their agendas rather than to genuinely support stability or constructive progress. Because I refuse to help achieve these goals by weaponizing my experiences or struggles, my story does not align with their narrative, which may explain why it has not received the media coverage it deserves.
Why I Remain Dedicated to Egypt
I have spoken out against certain policies, witnessed unbearable personal losses, and endured the pain of separation from my family. However, my commitment to Egypt’s stability and growth remains firm. In my latest press release, "Exiled Egyptian Scientist Awarded Third U.S. Patent for Climate Change Technology, Unveils Revolutionary 'Proof of Survival' Project, " I made this clear:
“Despite his vocal opposition to the Egyptian regime and the painful events that befell his young preschooler daughter and wife, Dr. Abdelsamie has taken an unexpected stance in support of Egypt's economy. Driven by a deep commitment to stability in the Middle East and globally, he is urging international support and investment in Egypt to help bolster economic growth and sustain regional stability.”
Reflecting his dedication to constructive progress, Dr. Abdelsamie announced his intention to run for the Egyptian presidency in 2024 , should the Egyptian government permit his candidacy. However, with the Egyptian presidential election held earlier in 2023 and no response received from the Egyptian government, his bid remains unacknowledged. Dr. Abdelsamie explains that he declared his intention to run to inspire those calling for violent and destructive revolution to focus on peaceful and sustainable change instead. He views this path as a constructive avenue for positive transformation and emphasizes that public interest and regional stability must take precedence over personal grievances or political opposition. In recent statements on social media regarding protests planned for November 11, 2022, and July 12, 2024, he openly rejected these calls for revolution, advocating instead for stability and discouraging divisive actions in Egypt.
My goal is constructive change. I believe in a path that brings unity and growth, benefiting the people of Egypt and preserving regional stability. For this reason, I am not simply an opposition figure like those you often read about in media, allowing their struggles to be weaponized against their country to help major powers achieve political agendas. These are the same powers that participate in and support the ongoing genocide in Palestine. While I am an opposition figure, I am equally an advocate for progress, rooted in hope, resilience, and a commitment to a brighter future for my country.
To the Journalists Who Have Reached Out
For journalists seeking to tell a story of resilience and integrity, I want you to know that my work doesn’t fit neatly into political or media agendas. Instead, it speaks to those who value truth and justice. This is a story of innovation born from hardship, driven by love for a country I have been separated from for over a decade. It’s a story for those who prioritize humanity, justice, and a brighter future.
Let me be clear: I will never allow my struggles to be weaponized against the country I continue to love. My story is simple—my efforts in technology, climate action, and human rights are not in contradiction. Rather, they unite in a single purpose: a vision for a stable, prosperous Egypt that honors the dignity of its people and contributes to a more peaceful world.
About the Proof of Survival Project (As mentioned in the press release)
Most recently, I unveiled my groundbreaking project, Proof of Survival , through a patent filing introduced in my recent press release. At its core, this revolutionary system is the first to achieve true continuous passive biometric verification, automatically authenticating users every 2-5 minutes through ECG (electrocardiogram) and PPG (photoplethysmography) data without any user action. Combined with continuous location verification, this offers an unprecedented level of security and trust in digital interactions.
The system introduces a pioneering economic model where users can earn cryptocurrency simply by being alive—transforming human vitality into digital value through a "biometric mining" mechanism that requires no technical knowledge. Unlike traditional cryptocurrency mining, which consumes massive amounts of energy, this system rewards users for contributing to network security through their natural biological signals, promoting a more sustainable and inclusive economy.
The system's applications are transformative. It enables secure cryptocurrency wallets that continuously verify the owner’s presence, foolproof remote work verification, real-time fraud prevention for financial transactions, and tamper-proof audit trails for sensitive operations—all while passively monitoring health indicators for potential emergencies.
In healthcare, continuous biometric and location verification allows for secure patient monitoring, automatic hospital check-ins, and verified medical compliance tracking. For enterprise security, it ensures persistent identity verification to prevent credential sharing and confirm the physical presence of authorized personnel. Remarkably, this system maintains strict user privacy through advanced encryption and zero-knowledge proofs, making it the first truly passive, continuous, and privacy-preserving verification solution.
This project embodies my vision of technology that serves both humanitarian and practical purposes, offering transformative solutions for security, healthcare, and financial services in the digital age. 1 周I’m deeply concerned about your comment of “genocide” in Palestine. As a scientist, it’s important to test your hypothesis. As a scientist who listens to all the news, I can’t justify a statement like yours because I understand the IDF has been administering vaccines to the children of Gaza…this is just one example. Would Hitler have vaccinated the Jewish children in the camps? The only people in this war that call for genocide are the Palestinians of the Jews…and it is done outwardly…these are facts. Please test your theories and political statements against all of the facts to propagate peace not misinformation.
