What if AI could do your job better than you? Does that mean humans are no longer needed? In a world where AI can already perform tasks that once required human effort, it’s easy to think machines will take over. But here’s the real question: are you adaptable enough to stay ahead?
Historically, we’ve seen how technology can disrupt jobs. During the Industrial Revolution, machines replaced manual laborers. Steam engines and mechanized looms in the textile industry took over jobs that once required physical effort. Workers in mines, mills, and factories were replaced by machines that could do the job faster and more efficiently. This was a revolution that shifted the workforce from muscle-driven tasks to machine-driven production(World Economic Forum ).
Fast forward to the early 20th century and we see the impact of Taylorism, a management theory developed by Frederick Taylor. His principles of scientific management optimized factory production by breaking down tasks into simple, repetitive steps. Jobs in consultancy, finance, and even software development, fields that once required high levels of human expertise, are now becoming automated.
