A Year At A Time
It's been a year of me coming back home. Why coming back? Because I have been with them before. It's my second innings here. As my boss who is also a friend welcomed me back exactly a year ago. Yes, I work for an amazing organization. We are a very small organization in comparison to the giants, but with a heart that the mega giants may not have. As the senior-most in my department, the only thing that my management asks of me time and again is to keep the human in the capital. As I see it, it's people first for all of us. It's not just one person, everyone in the leadership team is "humane'. This is what makes my organization my home. Having friends and having work is great. But coming to work to spend the day with friends is amazing. This does not mean there is no productivity. This means fewer office politics and much lesser work-related stress. Who does not have a little pressure and few goals to achieve. But being able to do those willingly and with happiness is what we are for.
My love-to-sleep-in-late associate sent me the wishes which I got at 8 AM (Of course I could not have sent myself a happy work anniversary). In these perilous times, where we are all struggling some way or the other, the satisfaction I have is, everyone in this organization is taken care of. We are almost a thousand strong. And we are all together in this. We are gearing up to take the new normal head-on. I hope we figure this out quickly and effectively. As my five-year-old chatterbox asked, "are we going, extinct mama?" If we humans do not behave, I am sure we will.
To me retiring from this place! To me growing old with this place! To me, contributing to building this place! One Year At A Time!
