The McKinley Avenue Agency
The McKinley Avenue Agency is a student-run, full-service strategic communication and media sales agency.
As the academic year comes to close, we wanted to take the time to highlight our most distinguished events and accomplishments. While The McKinley Avenue Agency works year-round, the bulk of our work happens August-April and as we prepare to say goodbye to 12 graduates from the office, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate all the work we've done this year. Our students who dedicate their time to the agency deserve all the recognition for their hard work and motivation. On top of being full-time students, they do notable work for our clients that will further progress their career.
We work with more than 60 clients each year, create an average of 100 customer ads each month for social media (print and online) and we put on more than 40 events each year. We are proud of the work we release on behalf of our clients and are thankful to have the support and means to do so.
Staying IN
Our first project is the continuation of the Staying IN campaign. Staying IN is an advertising campaign run by the agency that is committed to encourage Indiana college students to stay in Indiana after they graduate. Ball State's Office of Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement Jeff Eads hired the agency to create a brand, website, and social media page. In the first year of the campaign, McKinley Avenue managed an Instagram, Snapchat, website, and made video ads that ran on Hulu and YouTube. By the end of the school year, the agency had an 80.5k reach with 1.4k content interaction and 137 followers gained on Instagram.
There are many things to look forward to with the Staying IN campaign, such as summer festivals in Indiana and updates on Indiana Fever. Here at The McKinley Avenue Agency, we are proud to call ourselves Hoosiers and love being able to share highlights about our home state.
TRAC
The Birth to 5 Regional Coalition developed the Training, Resource, and Advocacy Connector (TRAC) to provide training and resources to current early education providers, encourage individuals to pursue early childhood education professions, and advocate the benefits of supporting early childhood education to area employers, funders and state and local policymakers. TRAC hired the agency for brand development, brand identity guidelines, letterhead and business card design, website design, and social media. Our team has been working diligently to bring these ideas to life for the future of TRAC.
Rebranding of Housing Guide and Housing Fair
The Ball State Daily Housing Fair is an opportunity for our clients to meet with students face-to-face and showcase their housing opportunities. Our main objectives with the Housing Fair are to increase awareness and attendance of the event by promoting it through various channels and collaborations with other student organizations and departments. We believed that by developing a new, unique brand identity for the Housing Fair, we could differentiate it from other housing options and make it more appealing to students.
Our goals were to increase visibility and the awareness of the Housing Fair and online Housing Guide through social media marketing, and increase promotion of the Housing Fair through collaborations with other student organizations and departments.
The 2024 Ball State Daily Housing Fair was a huge success! This year's fair was sponsored by The Haven and hosted 10 representatives from apartment complexes all over Muncie. We had a great turnout for this event and the rebranding was an accomplishment.

Louie Awards
The School of Journalism and Strategic Communication held their annual Louie Awards. Eight members from The McKinley Avenue Agency were recognized for their perseverance and dedication to the agency.

The 2023-2024 school year holds many accomplishments and memories. We are thankful for the support we receive from the Ball State School of Journalism and Strategic Communication and from our faithful clients who allow us to gain valuable experience. Here's to another great year!
