The Year That Was: 2024 in Review

As I sit back and reflect on 2024, I am filled with immense gratitude and a sense of fulfillment. This year has been one of transformation, insights, and milestones—both personally and for the Global HR Community (GHRC). Through over 200 articles, I’ve had the privilege of sharing thoughts, provoking discussions, and learning alongside a vibrant community. It’s been a journey of thought leadership, fostering meaningful connections, and striving to make an impact in the world of HR and beyond.

The year began on a high note with the launch and publication of my book, "Making People Count : How to Measure ROI on Human Capital," which included a foreword by the legendary Dave Ulrich. This book has been a labor of love, and seeing it resonate with readers across the globe has been one of my proudest achievements. Additionally, being selected by Silicon India as one of the Prominent Leadership Coaches in India was a humbling recognition of my efforts in fostering leadership and growth.

Let me take you through some of the key themes and milestones that defined 2024 for me and our community.

HR: Shaping the Future of Work

Human Resources has always been a cornerstone of my professional journey, and in 2024, I had the chance to delve deeper into its evolving role:

3. "Building a Winning Workplace with AI": AI is transforming workplaces, and this piece explored how it’s reshaping culture, engagement, and productivity.
4. "AI at the Workplace": This reflection touched on how AI is not just a tool but a catalyst for change in how we live and work.
5. "Can HR Shape Business Strategy": Here, I delved into the strategic potential of HR, urging professionals to move beyond administrative roles and become drivers of business success.

Technology: Bridging the Digital Divide

Technology has always fascinated me, and 2024 offered ample opportunities to explore its impact:

1. "AI Augments Human Intelligence": This article discussed how AI can complement human capabilities, creating a synergy that enhances decision-making and creativity.
2. "Exponential Technologies Revolutionizing the Future": Drawing from insights by Peter Diamandis, I shared how technology can solve some of humanity’s biggest challenges.
3. "Predicting the Future with the 6Ds Framework": I explored the 6Ds framework—a roadmap to understanding technological evolution and its transformative potential.

Entrepreneurship: Lessons in Leadership

Entrepreneurship is close to my heart, and I’ve always admired those who dare to dream big. This year, I shared lessons from my experiences and observations:

• Recognition for GHRC: Being honored with the India 5000 Best MSME Award was a proud moment that validated our collective efforts.
• Community Growth: Our GHRC community expanded significantly, creating opportunities for collaboration, learning, and innovation.

Looking Ahead to 2025

As I bid farewell to 2024, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.
