A Year, Moment, Event I’ll Cherish Always

A tragic truth the oncology community faces is that, too often, cancer wins. It’s the reality we live in, but we must constantly push forward and advance science for the patients who depend on us.

I’m grateful for the many special moments this past year that proved the oncology community is making tremendous strides. Most notably, the 2022 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) where we witnessed an astonishing 200+ sessions exemplifying the #ASCO22 meeting theme, “Advancing Equitable Cancer Care Through Innovation.”

It was a historic moment for patients with breast cancer with the entire oncology community standing up to applaud new data which demonstrated the magnitude of our organization’s advancements. Together we were united in the realization of the impact we could collectively have on the thousands of patients living with breast cancer.

Seeing tears of joy in the eyes of patients, advocacy groups, oncologists and my colleagues was one of the most special and unforgettable moments of my career.

It’s been an extraordinary year for Daiichi Sankyo US , as we have begun to deliver on the promise we made years ago of bringing innovative medicines to patients in need around the world. We are transforming science into medicine that can help change the standard of care for the patients we serve. Our medicines achieved multiple indications for patients with cancer and helped transform the treatment paradigm for certain patients living with HER2 metastatic breast cancer.

This holiday season let’s cherish the memories we’ve made but not lose sight on what matters most—giving people more time together with their loved ones.

Thanks to every patient, caregiver, support team and family member for the courage, resilience and compassion you show every day. You are, and will always be, our inspiration. We will continue to learn from your experiences and journey so we can collectively be greater.
