A Year of Love in Business Strategy? Yes, Please! ??

Hello, friend!

Normally, at this time of year, I’m knee-deep in reflections, sorting through the ups, the downs, the “should-haves,” and the “almost-but-not-quites.” But this year? I’m only looking forward. And the path I’m seeing is one paved with Love.

What’s Love Got to Do With It? Everything.

Now, I’m not talking about candle-lit dinners (though, hey, why not?). I mean the highest-vibe kind of love: the kind that sparks kindness, ignites connections, and reverberates through communities. This is love that looks beyond our “dividing lines,” making room for everyone—even the folks we may not see eye-to-eye with. It’s the fierce, all-in, no-exceptions kind of love that’s, well, kinda magical. ?

But here’s the truth: bringing love into our work isn’t always easy. Sometimes, it asks us to break out of our comfortable little bubbles and let go of judgment. The Ego loves a good “us vs. them” story, doesn’t it? But this year, I’m all in for a new narrative, and I’m sharing it with you because it’s going to shape everything I do—from the way I approach my work to how I help you in yours.

Head Meets Heart: Love as a Superpower in Business Strategy

For a long time, I kept my head and my heart on separate tracks in my professional life. Like many of us, I thought business required one side, and life’s passions, the other. But here’s the thing: love is my superpower, and I’m ready to bring it front and center. So, what does that mean for us?

It means helping you build deep, transformative connections with donors, clients, and community partners. I’m not just talking about “supporters” but true partners who are ready to roll up their sleeves and work alongside you for a better, brighter world. Together, we’ll create collaborations that move beyond transactional relationships and into the sweet spot of true philanthropy—(Greek lesson alert: it literally means “love of humanity” ??).

Creating Impact-Driven Business Strategies Built on Sustainable Revenue

In 2024, my mission is to help purpose-driven businesses like yours turn love into strategy. A real, sustainable force that drives impact. When we center love in our work, we shift from scarcity and fear into possibility and connection. We expand possibilities for our businesses, our partners, and our communities. With love leading the way, we can create:

  • Genuine Connections that move beyond the “transactional” and build relationships that last
  • Collaborative Partnerships that fuel social enterprises and explore new solutions to community challenges
  • Sustainable Revenue that’s grounded in values, built for impact, and driven by people who care as deeply as you do

Let’s dream a little together. Imagine building partnerships that amplify your mission, deepen your impact, and make a real difference in the world. It’s all possible when we lead with love.

Dream Big: Who Would You Love to Work With?

If you could pick three organizations—businesses, foundations, nonprofits—to collaborate with, who would they be? How would those relationships help you bring your mission to life?

Here’s how to start thinking about it:

  • What types of organizations align with your mission and values?
  • How could these partnerships expand your reach and create impact-driven solutions?
  • What shared goals could you tackle together?

Moving Forward with Love and Purpose

Moving forward, I’m excited to explore how to help you lead from love rather than fear. Together, we’ll build connections, partnerships, and collaborations that maximize the impact of your work, creating communities that are vibrant, inclusive, and full of possibility.

Hit reply, or drop a comment if you’re reading this on the blog—I’d genuinely love to hear who’s on your dream collaboration list!

With love and a heart full of gratitude,

Julianna

Love this - particularly your comment around connecting both the professional and personal sides. I've done this for so long and am continuously learning to allow that connection and my superpowers to shine across both!

Great article Julianna Nelson ! I love how you said “This is love that looks beyond our “dividing lines,” making room for everyone—even the folks we may not see eye-to-eye with”. What a powerful statement! I also learned that the Greek origin of Philanthropy means “love of humanity”! Makes perfect sense. ??
