A Year in the life..

A Year in the life..

A privilege and a pleasure

As 2022 began I had no idea of how my passion for photography would develop or even continue.

However, from simple landscape images to promotional photography, I have been so fortunate to have been given many opportunities to grow my portfolio and improve the ability to capture those special moments.

My love of Music and photography has given me the chance to photograph so many talented musicians over the last year and from this I have also gained new friends.

Photographing artists such as The Stylistics, The Drifters, Lindisfarne, Shakatak and The Three degrees this year was dream and it has taken me on an incredible ride in the process.

Two projects which gave me so much satisfaction within the music industry was being asked to create an album cover for a folk duo and also promotional images for an amazing jazz quintet.

A local arena has also taken me on as their official photographer for several gigs this year. An incredible opportunity to photograph some amazing acts.

The Rat Pack......

I try to make myself available for most requests and look for projects which challenge my abilities.

Living in a beautiful part of the UK has given me so many photographic opportunities in many amazing villages and towns and having taken many images of the historic Lavenham I was asked to be the official photographer for the inaugural Lavenham Film Festival.

Without the need to be too creative over the week, I still needed to produce important images showing the achievements of each and every person involved. Making myself available for the week in Lavenham has now given me the prospect to create portfolio images for a few of the actors I met during the week.

Having worked within the interior design industry for many years I feel gives me the aptitude to be creative in producing images for products used within that industry. I look to create photographs which gives the viewer a feel of the ambience of the place. The task to photograph a unique handcrafted cheeses trolley needed to show the quality and style of the place it was to be used in.

As a perfectionist with my work, being happy with my final image is always difficult to achieve for me and I am extremely critical of anything I produce.

The feeling of not only having my work approved but recognised as quality by professionals is a feeling that is simply second to none. ?Because of this I continue to strive for perfection.

Hopefully 2024 will bring perfection.....
