This Year Lets Build Our Own Tables.

This Year Lets Build Our Own Tables.

Over the past 4 weeks I have had opportunities like never before to be at the proverbial table as an entrepreneur. Whether it was sitting on stage with Mark Cuban and the SBA Administrator or creating space for non-profits across Texas to build access and equality, these moments have all had a theme in common. How do we find a seat at the table? I believe that I have a solution. We need to build our own tables, but most importantly we must create a space for our community to have at least a folding chair alongside us at these tables.

As I've said before, if I have a seat at the table I'm bringing folding chairs for those whose voices need to be heard or using the seat I have to advocate and share their story. However, can you imagine if we started building, cultivating, and manufacturing our own tables? Taking our talent, expertise, and connections to curate space for development, growth, and opportunities tailored to see those historically underserved to be supported.

What would that take? How can we make this a successfully orchestrated process versus an idea?

Please know that I do truly mean building tables, I mapped this idea out for a dear friend of mine recently. Let's keep this conversation going!

Goal – to build custom (living) boardroom|conference|meeting tables, better known as Empowerment Tables for women and minority owned businesses.

Mission – to build entricately designed, strong and spacious meeting tables for historically underserved business owners.?

Vision – to create a national network of businesses who are intentionally building their own tables, bringing their own chairs, and expanding equity through advocacy and business.?

Purpose – restructure the corporate structure of meetings by bringing together like-minded people around tailor made, custom wood tables built from sustainable materials to increase sustainability, affordability, and empowerment.??
