A Year On…

About a year ago I decided to relaunch my blog, The Introverted Recruiter and I also took the daunting step of creating video content on TikTok , YouTube & Instagram.
I say daunting because I’m the type of guy who hates the sound of his own voice and will always hide when someone pulls out a camera. I’m much more comfortable writing than I am speaking to camera.
When I first started writing and filming, I wasn’t really certain what I was going to be talking about, it was just going to be “recruitment-y stuff”.
A few weeks in I realised that there were so many content creators who are pushing out really really really bad advice to job seekers and in a lot of cases playing on people’s fear of needing a job to convince them they needed to pay extortionate amounts of money for really wrong career advice, templates and magical objects that could beat the mythical ATS.
So I decided that was going to be my focus. To provide people with really straight forward no nonsense job search advice based on my almost 20 years of recruiting experience.
A year on I like to think I’ve helped a few folk, I’ve had a lot of messages from people telling me that my advice and resources have really helped them land a new job.
That makes me happy.
I’m a guy who loves a list, so here’s a few of the articles and resources from the blog you might find useful:

CV Template
This has had thousands of downloads and I’ve had lots of messages from people saying it’s helped them to land job interviews. Get it here:

CV Review
I get loads of people asking me to review their CV. I honestly just don’t have the time to do it, so I created a Custom GPT, taught it a lot of stuff based on my experience and set it into the wild. It’s not perfect, but it’s about 80% there and should give you some really good feedback on your CV. And it’s obviously totally free:

There are loads more articles and resources on the blog that you might find useful, you can also sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss any new ones.?
Aside from the blog, you’ll find loads of other job search and career advice on my TikTok , YouTube & Instagram channels. When I first started putting content out on these channels, I wasn’t really sure if there was an audience for it, but 42 million views says that people are looking for this type of advice.
I’ve really enjoyed putting this content out over the past 12 months, have met some really cool people as a result and hopefully helped a few folk along the way.?
Cheers?
