The year of learning, continues

Week 52 : The year of learning, continues..

As I complete one year of the foundation project today, I am delighted to see the foundation I have worked upon. It gives me great joy that what started as a thought, I have been able to execute for the past one year, consistently. I have explored concepts ranging from organisation design to leadership development, from personal growth to team management.

What I am the most proud of is that I was able to do this consistently week on week, a kind of delivery on commitment that surprised even me. It makes me feel more confident about my ownership to any future commitments I may make.

?

While delivering on commitment is one aspect, the benefits to me of sticking to the commitment are the real rewards of this project. I started this as a weekend cadence to literally build my foundation as I switched gears mid career to HR.

Over the past one year I have read around 15 books on leadership, self improvement, productivity enhancement, good habit formation, financial management and in general how to be a better human who is at peace yet is performing to the best of abilities. I have in fact understood that the best way to peace is to challenge yourselves to perform to the best of your passion and abilities and you find your Ikigai!

?

Today marks the end of my public commitment to post an article weekly but I now find myself craving to post every Monday. I look forward to reading on some topic the whole week and my Monday will feel really empty without the reward of that feeling of having achieved a little bit of success that I get when I post the content. So here goes me, surrendering to a good habit created thanks to my public commitment.

?

I will continue to post, every Monday, coz learning doesn’t stop in one year. The foundation doesn’t get built in one year. For a skyscraper of a career the foundation has to go equally deep into the realm of expertise. So the foundation project continues. The learning continues. My commitment, my hunger to learn and improve continues and I am happy that I share this journey with you and your encouragement.

Many thanks to my mentors Gaurav Pandey , Megha Goel , Amandeep Singh and Subhasish Pattanaik for their constant encouragement and to my partner Manoj Dimri for being my rock, my raison d'être!

Congratulations Apekshit! I have been a regular reader of your post since last one year and I often wondered (and admired) at your consistency of keeping at it inspite of being so caught up in work as I know you are. I have often felt discipline is really a habit and showing up each time is really important. Loved the various concepts you touched upon and here's wishing for another 52 interesting blurbs! Keep 'em coming !!!
