Year End Update
2016 has been a thrilling year. As it wraps up, here are my current favorite for-profit and nonprofit ideas.
For-profit
My oldest, largest investment, OSHC, was acquired this week by OCFC. OCFC is still a good opportunity. The OSHC shares cost $8 in the mutual conversion. We got $4.35 per share in cash and OCFC equity currently worth $24.24 per share for a total of $28.59.
We expect to receive our cash and stock by the weekend. This is our third bank which we invested in and successfully encouraged to sell. Our next such investment is BNCC. Please stay tuned for updates on that opportunity. Shareholders could be richly rewarded for our efforts to unlock value.
Nonprofit
Watsi is one of my favorite nonprofits. It enables anyone to directly fund life-changing healthcare for people around the world. For my birthday, I am raising money for patients in need of care. If you chip in, 100% of your donation will fund healthcare. When my campaign is over, I’ll distribute all the money we raise.
So far we have funded healthcare for over 10,000 patients in 24 countries. Thanks to the 85 readers who chipped in to support Watsi. We have raised over $8,000 over the past few weeks. My hope is to get to $10,000 by Saturday.
