The year-end speech goes online...

Nickland Media has broadcast live the year-end speech at the headquarters of Nital, Fowa, Alpa, LTR Service, and PMA.

The giant that distributes the most important global electronics brands in Italy has chosen Nickland Media to produce a short live show, dedicated to all employees and collaborators, relating to the particular and difficult year that has just ended.

So the setup consisted of a Blackmagic Design ATEM Switcher Studio HD video switcher, an Extron Electronics IN1604.HD video scaler, an Alesis Multimix-16 2.0 audio mixer and three Sennheiser lav MKE 40-ew microphones, and an SKM-2000 handheld, three Nikon Z6.II on tripods and one mounted on a DJI Ronin SC and a computer for graphic input.

The choice of location was very interesting because to deeply involve all the staff, including those who work in logistics, the client chose to prepare the set on the mezzanine floor of the warehouse. This way the whole product was even more engaging, however, it also represented a challenge in terms of space and connections.

The wiring of the video system mounted on the DJI Ronin SC was quite a challenge, because it was necessary to offer a lot of room for movement to the operator. Reason why it was necessary to opt for a hybrid solution with a Mini-HDMI-to-HDMI adapter, an HDMI extension up to a Blackmagic HDMI-to-SDI Micro Converter in order to be able to do meters without losing quality.

As you can see, we had 4 video signals to choose from plus one signal with graphic contributions. The entire PGM feed was broadcast with a downstream key to place a frame with the logos of the companies involved over the final product.

In this case, the live broadcast took place not on a social channel such as Facebook or YouTube, but on a so-called soft-codec platform, such as Zoom for Business, in order to limit access to guests only.

As usual, it turns out that in order to obtain a quality product, although in this case it was a simple transmission lasting just over 10 minutes, the prior planning and preparation work is fundamental and painstaking.

Special thanks go to Matteo Bagnasacco for his super professional and hyper-dedicated support, and also to the Winkler family for believing once again in Nickland Media.

Do you believe that people are still being heard effectively, as many at home tire of the continuous virtual meetings, as well as the digital events they are encouraged to attend?
