The Year of Coppicing

The Year of Coppicing

Good Morning 2024! I'd love to introduce you to a new word: coppicing. By definition, it refers to the forests that are cut to allow for new growth that typically is grown off of old stumps. This allows for faster generation as the new trees rely on the old trees root system. And if the last few years haven’t felt like foresting, I don’t know a better word for it! However, the hope - the growth - the possibility that lies in the new, mighty trees brings me utter elation every time I spot a tree-on-a-stump in the woods.?It’s proof that new things are possible. It’s evidence that magic is all around us. It’s my word of the year.?

Please feel free to join in on the Year of Coppicing if any of this resonates with you as well. Or hit reply and let us know what your word of the year is!

May your goals make your heart beat faster, Steph + Team Corker

He asks the sage question:

To Hope: HOT JOBS

  • We are stoked to be hiring a brand new role at Nature’s Path: Head of Corporate Talent Acquisition. (I’m biassed as this role will report into one of my very favourite?VP, People who anyone would be mighty lucky to work with!)
  • Job Seeking Sessions with Lana are always available here.

To GROWTH:

This.Is.It: The Final Community Offering of Manager Essentials goes live January 16th, led by Cayley Benjamin. It’s been 3 iterations, so many upgrades and edits and it’s time to keep growing. So join us now before this tree is chopped!

Team Coaching Cecily has two wonderful coaching offerings for this month. As she is deep in her Masters program, she is sharing her passion for supporting teams and individuals to reach maximum performance and uncover hidden potential. This is for those seeking a new perspective and ultimate growth.

A wonderful human worthy of following on substack is Sarah Blondin who shared this:

"Perhaps the art of harvesting the secret riches of our lives is best achieved when we place profound trust in the act of beginning. Risk might be our greatest ally. To live a truly creative life, we always need to cast a critical look at where we presently are, attempting always to discern where we have become stagnant and where new beginnings might be ripening. There can be no growth if we do not remain open and vulnerable to what is new and different. I have never seen anyone take a risk for growth that was not rewarded a thousand times over." - John O’Donohue?
