A Year of Achievements - expanding horizons
As 2022 draws to a close, and many of us make our last-minute preparations for the Christmas holiday season with friends and family, I wanted to take a moment to look back on what has been an eventful, often challenging, and yet still rewarding year.
From the war in Ukraine to the UK's turnover of Prime Ministers, as well as the death of Queen Elizabeth, events have caused significant volatility - but?once again real estate’s adaptability has seen the sector take everything (broadly) in its stride.
At Innesco , the year has emphasised the central role of strong marketing and message, something that becomes ever more vital as the real estate industry has emerged from the pitfalls of the pandemic and bounced back across various sectors. It has been particularly pleasing to see so many clients entering new markets, launching new projects, opening new assets, and embarking on new initiatives.
?Among a year of highlights, Innesco has taken particular pride in (deep breath): supporting?the acquisition of Silverburn?and?Parma Retail?for Eurofund Group ; organising events, tours and meetings around?Oslo Fashion Week for Promenaden Management (MARK); securing broadsheet and front page coverage for?Ardent UK’s acquisition of The Royal Exchange?in the City of London; the opening of?Bujairi Terrace at Diriyah?in Riyadh while picking up the?RLI Future Project Award?and announcing the?world’s largest Time Out Market deal; launching?Start Living, a new £500 million single-family build-to-rent platform;?PR support for MAPIC, recognising and promoting the venerable theme of People, Planet, Profit and attracting over 5,000 delegates back to Cannes; American Dream outperforming the market with deals including?MrBeast Burger; VIA Outlets’?Landquart Fashion Outlet in Switzerland ranked first?among brand outlet centres at the MAPIC Awards; a new?positioning and narrative for Castle Quarter in Norwich?with RivingtonHark; being part of the?Egypt pavilion at MIPIM, which bounced back with over 20,000 delegates;?hosting a drinks reception at the British Embassy in Riyadh with RLI; Get Living’s gamification programme at Completely Retail Marketplace; and?new podcasts with Benoy. These are just a handful of our many achievements this year, and it has been a privilege to help our clients develop messaging and narratives against a challenging economic backdrop.

A big feature of Innesco’s 2022 was our rebrand?– coming in our thirteenth year (we are now a teenager!) – refocusing the business around our integrated brand of purposeful marketing and message within the world of real estate and the built environment. This has been remarkably refreshing, not least because it was delivered entirely by our wonderful in-house creative team, but also due to the way it is helping clients to connect our actions and initiatives with significant growth and transformation on a bigger stage. We have also strengthened the team this year with several new hires that bring renewed energy, creativity, and drive to the business – I am exceptionally proud of our multi-lingual, diverse, and global team, and how they pull together and achieve great things.
For many people, these are challenging times - not least due to the cost of living crisis. For those of you looking for a way to help?I can highly recommend the work of LandAid, which is Innesco’s chosen charity this Christmas. But whatever problems the sector faces now, as we look towards the New Year I am filled with a degree of optimism and enthusiasm for what the future holds for the industry. We have achieved so much together this past year, and I have no doubt that with continued diligence and determination, we will accomplish even greater things in 2023.
We look forward to seeing and working with you – wishing you all a fantastic Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year!
