Year 3 is a Charm: Celebrating 15 Years of ITMAGINATION

Today, I’ll show you why providing the highest possible quality to your clients pays off. Recommendations work like magic when it comes to growing your business quickly. Trust me – this is how we operate even now!

What We Have Learned in Year Three

In 2010, we won projects with some of the largest companies in Europe. These collaborations could have gone two ways: we could have failed to deliver the more complex solutions needed, or we could have succeeded at what we promised. We chose the latter. Here are the lessons from year three:

  1. Develop Your Competencies and Invest in Professional Development:?

Embrace a continuous learning mindset and invest in honing your skills. By staying at the forefront of industry trends, you position yourself for success.?

For us, it was a no-brainer. We weren’t that bothered about the Profit and Loss statement – every day we just wanted to be better than the day before. Only then we could become the leader in our industry, providing the best service to our clients.?

Being an expert and specialising is what gives your company the edge – use that to your advantage. Invest in your company and in yourself.

2.?????????????Be Persistent:?

Running a #business can be truly challenging. But if you have a good plan and strategy – never give up! Persevere through the obstacles, adapt to changes, and remain committed to achieving your goals.?

Be like a bull, just like me, whatever happens, and however heavy load you’re carrying, keep moving forward and reach your destination.

3.?????????????Build Trust and Be Honest:?

Trust is the foundation of all successful relationships, especially business ones, and it opens doors to new opportunities.

It was #trust and honesty that saved ITMAGINATION from a huge failure in 2010. The good news was that we won a million PLN project – the bad? In December, the project lead programmer resigned. If not for the good relationship with the client and our honesty, we’d lose this contract. The client gave us a chance to find a solution quickly. Not only we finished the project, but also, we ended up with a strong team that would come through in the years ahead! I’m proud to say that some of the team members are still with us at #ITMAGINATION. Call it a win-win-win situation.

Is rapid growth good for your company??

ITMAGINATION started to acquire larger enterprise clients, who needed their own internal software houses made. Sounds great, doesn’t it? If only we were as prepared as some of our competitors.?

Remember, together with the growth of sales, your team should be able to grow as well. At that time, we weren’t ready for mass recruitment, so we had to play it safe in some cases. If I were to do it again, I would focus on building practical strategies and processes earlier to sustain rapid growth.

Why are recommendations important??

In 2010, we had an opportunity to work with a leading player in the insurance industry after winning a parallel workshop with two other competitors. After showing our commitment and recommendations, we secured a long-term project to build a data warehouse that operates today.?

Do you want an in on an inside joke??

If you ever come across a data warehouse called ZHD, you’ll be in the know. When we were naming the data warehouse with this client, the first name he came up with was Zajebista Hurtownia Danych, which roughly translates to "Awesome Data Warehouse." And now you know it too!

Strong Partnerships will Pay Off

Working with #microsoft meant our abilities were confirmed by the best. And once they realised, we are great at our job, they started to recommend us to large international companies. Case studies we presented usually helped verify our expertise as well, in turn giving us an advantage over other competing companies.?

I hope these lessons inspire and guide you on your own career path. Stay tuned for our next article. If you haven't read the previous ones, check them out on LinkedIn to learn how to avoid the most common mistakes when starting a business.
