"Tea Planter | Agriculture Enthusiast | Photographer | Environment lover - Cultivating Tea, Capturing Beauty, and Preserving Nature"
Throughout the year, I recorded 143 species spanning diverse taxonomic groups, including Protozoans, Fungi, Plants, chromista, mollusks, insects, arachnids, ray-finned fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals, and other fascinating creatures. Each species played a vital role in maintaining the delicate ecological balance of the tea estate.
The importance of biodiversity in tea gardens goes beyond aesthetics. A thriving ecosystem supports natural pest control, improves soil health, and enhances pollination, ultimately contributing to sustainable tea cultivation. By documenting and understanding these species, we can take meaningful steps toward conservation and responsible agricultural practices.
As tea estates continue to evolve, it is essential to balance agriculture and biodiversity conservation. I hope that my documentation inspires more efforts to preserve and appreciate the hidden wonders that flourish in our tea gardens.
I would love to hear from fellow nature enthusiasts and conservationists—what are your experiences with biodiversity in cultivated landscapes? Let's collaborate to protect and celebrate nature!
