Welcome Isi
We are looking forward to you helping us bring modern UI development to engineering simulation software.
Fluid inflow now supported
This month we have added fluid inflow and outflow boundaries to our simulations, check it out! This is a key feature on the way to simulating wind tunnels, a common experimental setup for engineers analysing the aerodynamic properties of a design.
This work has been led by Dr Aditi Roy, learn more about boundary conditions in fluid dynamics. The video below shows a jet flowing in from the left into a pipe with an outflow on the right.

Towards placing objects inside fluid simulation
The next key feature required for a 2D wind tunnel simulation is to support embedded boundaries, where a region inside the simulation domain is defined as solid and blocks flow.?
Below is a plot showing our recently implemented marching squares algorithm in action, which determines the fraction of a cell within a solid object (blue). Whilst originally developed for computer graphics, it is now commonly used in fluid simulation code when implementing embedded boundaries.
That's all for now, if you know any engineering/fluid nerds who would be interested in our progress towards radically more efficient CFD send them our way!
Drop me an email at: [email protected] or WhatsApp me +44 7564732062 if you are interested in learning more.
Cheers, Laurence.
