Yatrikart's Co-founder Shivangee Sharma’s Journey to Entrepreneurship

Shivangee Sharma, the co-founder of Yatrikart, began her journey as an Air India intern in 2009 while pursuing yoga. Despite familial constraints and a job in Mumbai, her entrepreneurial spirit led her to a master's in yoga and fashion design.?

Facing family opposition to starting her boutique, she took a job in Indore while secretly venturing into entrepreneurship, organizing successful events, and saving for her first yoga class. Shivangee's perseverance paid off as she founded SHIOOMS wellness centers in 2017 and later co-founded Calipso with her life partner, Gaurav Rana.

COVID-19 forced them to close, but Yatrikart was birthed, addressing illegal hawking issues at railways. The venture quickly gained traction, reaching 98 stores in transit, and 450+ partner stores, and became known in 256 countries. Shivangee's journey includes showcasing at Rajasthan Fashion Week, winning Amazon Prime's "MISSION START AB 2023," and planning to expand Yatrikart in MPCG.

Overcoming societal norms, financial problems, and adapting to change, Shivangee's proudest moments include changing her family's perception, showcasing at prestigious events, and winning a reality show. Her future goals involve scaling Yatrikart, disrupting transit retail, and empowering last-mile retailers.

Embracing passion and creatively solving problems are Shivangee's main life lessons. Her message to aspiring women is to pursue dreams persistently, as uniqueness is an individual’s greatest strength.?
