3. never at rest; perpetually agitated or in motion: the restless sea.
Those in business obviously and easily recognized as restless are self fueled, self motivated, self energized: relentless in relevant action. They are not as risk adverse as others, they multi-task with great ease yet, self-demand and peer demand accelerated production, greater return for a team’s human capital: faster and more effective results. They indeed intend to supplant and subjugate competitors, make and or take a market thru change, focus and accelerated speed.
Restless colleagues are high energy, are impatient and offer perpetual motion. Restless team members are not content with the status quo even if the status quo is positive… is already working. In fact, they constantly tangle with the status quo and is driven to do things better right now, not later, not tomorrow: right now. A restless leader assiduously augers the future in the language of market opportunity ensuring their company has a long tail of brand and product differentiation competitive advantage. And they magnet and develop team members into favorable organizational leadership creating effective consensus and opportunity inside and outside of their office buildings.
In my spare weekend time inside Studio W creativity took a big orchestrated swing, as expressed in this video composition titled “Restless.”
From my personal experience I believe there are 7 highly valued traits of restless leaders as follows:
- The Dignity of Knowledge: Restless leaders are relentless in hunting for, understanding and articulating the right, most relevant facts to be articulated applied to ensure success. Knowledge in the language of relevancy ensures the best cadence and effectiveness for any restless leader. Knowledge is the core backbone for their tendentious positions in business.
- Inspirational Capital: Restless leaders are drawn to inspirational creativity from varying sources that inspire; such as art and literature as the Restless Leaders know that there are lessons and inspiration to be gained from metaphors that surround them, from the potential power impact of highly effective creativity. They unite knowledge and creativity as their competitive construct towards gaining market advantage.
- Risk Centric Development: Restless leaders have a culture that places opportunity in the language of risk in all they do, all they focus on, all they articulate. They hunt for new ideas, new ways to engage towards capturing and commanding highly progressive and profitable opportunities.
- Personal Avocation: Restless business leaders are also well entrenched in their own personal hobbies and pleasures. They are creatively active outside of the office and strive for the same level of excellence in their personal endeavors as they do within their business roles. These hobbies can range and vary from art to sports to music to gaming.
- Speed Thrills: Restless leaders live, thrive and thrill in a world of “change, focus and speed.” They do not wait or standby for action rather they are highly proactive and armed with knowledge, inspiration and the energy to drive productivity, collaboration and progress inside and outside of their office setting. They adopt early, they fly fast, they are relentless to team succeed.
- Create Balance: Restless leaders Re well aware of their tendency to drive fast, to inspire and take risk. They are flinty in their tendencies yet steady in their resolve. They bring creativity, knowledge and relevancy to the company mission and align well to united team vision. Their change, focus and speed DNA is smartly and consistently aligned with company foundation, strategy and goals. They also create harmonious balance with self as they give to their favorite causes, they extend personal, gracious kindness to all.
- Creativity Is Restless: Restless leaders are in creativity mode 24 hours a day. They construct and capitalize their critical thinking, business judgment, sales motivation and sales comprehension thru creative thinking, thru united and t]perfectly tuned creativity and relevancy to advance market opportunity.
If you want to be the leader you must act and perform like the leader. In all you say, in all you do, especially under the ribs of a restless umbrella called “Change, Focus and Speed.” Restless leaders do not spend much time tearing down the old… rather they focus on creating, changing, focusing and accelerating the new, the new that makes and takes market opportunity. Why are you restless? Because there is no other effective way.
