1) Why do you enjoy what you do?

We love to work with heart centered entrepreneurs who are on fire for their community or offering. We find that finances and back office tasks are draining for some and we LOVE creating order, organizing data and making sure businesses are profitable and their owners thrive!

2) Tell us about your initial experience using Xero and what would you say are Xero’s best features?

I am loving how easy Xero is for my team and business owners. The Dashboard and navigation is simple! Bank rules are easy to use and reconcile. The seamless integration with automating apps like Hubdoc for bill entry and autopay/autoremind on client invoices is SUCH a timesaver. Bank rules and cash coding are a dream. 

3) How have you found such great success in growing your practice with Xero?

Growing my offering with its capabilities in mind makes it an easy choice. The open API and growing app marketplace make me feel comfortable recommending it to so many industries, knowing it can grow with clients. 

4) You attended Xerocon San Diego in your first few months as a Xero partner and recently attended Xero On Air. How was this experience for you? What role did Xerocon and Xero on Air play (if any) in your adoption of Xero?

Xerocon and Xero On Air are both significant reasons I am all in with Xero. From the community of partners and local collaborative support, to the energetic desire of the corporate team to REALLY help small businesses thrive by constantly moving automation and efficient integrations forward, it's really a no brainer for the forward thinking firm. #laptoplifestyle is REAL!

5) What role does technology play in the client-advisor relationship at your firm? (how are you using technology to improve this relationship?)

Businesses need real time access to their information to make informed decisions on the fly and in changing environments. Xero makes this so seamless. From the mobile app to the customizable Dashboard in the cloud and super simple integrations to so many applications, it's pretty easy to get enterprise level accounting software for the smaller business at an appropriate cost! These are reasons for growing businesses to use a flexible and solid accounting tool. The AI being embraced at Xero is the way of the future. I believe we should automate everything that can be so that #humans can be fulfilled by doing the work only we can do!

6) What would you say is the biggest misconception about cloud accounting?

I know for many security is a big concern but with multi factor authentication, encrypted password applications, complex passwords at the network and user level, I see cloud accounting way more secure than passwords to physical servers and desktops written down in notebooks or reused over and over again by antiquated systems.

7) Fast forward 10 years, what (if any) major changes or shifts do you see having taken place in the accounting industry?

App stacks to build enterprise level systems and technical accountants who can orchestrate good data processes will be way more important than bank feeds and routine bookkeeping. Continued rise of electronic payments and near elimination of cash based monetary tools. 

To wrap up tell us a little bit about yourself:

Where’s your favorite place to unwind in Austin? On Lake Travis for sure - Sunshine and a boat ride breeze is the best place to relax. 

Describe your ideal weekend? Yoga, boating with the family, cocktails outdoors with friends and then quiet cups of coffee on my patio in the (late) morning.

What is your greatest achievement? Navigating relationships with my teenagers who I *still* enjoy and a healthy marriage while chasing my own entrepreneurial dreams and serving clients exceptionally. It's not easy, but it is incredibly satisfying!

What are you looking most forward to in the future? Learning more about new clients and what fuels them. Seeing a person light up as they share their visions of a better future and then helping them get there - this is my life’s work.
