In this article we want to talk about the US Stock market briefly.

Well, it is better to have a definition of Stocks, when was the stock market in the world formed and also on what date did the stock market of the United States establish?

Stock market has a long history that has its roots in the 3rd century in Europe and was established in the United States during the 18th century.

The concept of Commodity trade goes back to the first civilizations. Businesses first invested their capital to transfer ships by sea to other countries. These trades have been done by business groups for thousands of years.

Throughout the middle ages, merchants gathered in the middle of a city to trade and exchange goods from different countries around the world. Since these traders were from different countries, establishing a business enterprise was necessary.

The first modern stock trading market was established in Amsterdam, where the Dutch East India Company was the first public company. To increase the capital, the company decided to sell shares and pay profits to investors. Then in 1611, the Amsterdam Stock Exchange was established. For years, the only business activity in the stock exchange was the Dutch East India Company’s stock.

At the same moment, other countries started to create similar companies and buying shares was popular for investors. This blinded most of the investors, and they bought the shares of any company without research. These days, it is usually referred to as a stock market bubble.

This led to financial instability and finally in 1720, investors panicked and tried to sell all their stocks in a hurry. However, no one was buying, so the market fell.

When was the United States stock market founded?

The New York Stock Exchange took centuries to become what it is today. In 1817, Buttonwood traders observed the Philadelphia Mercantile Exchange and learned from it to imitate their exchange model and founded the New York Stock Exchange.

Parts had a dress code and they had to win a seat in the stock market. They also had to pay a fee, which increased from $25 to $100 by 1837.

After the Great Fire on 1835, which destroyed 700 buildings in Lower Manhattan, Wall Street suffered significant financial losses. Fortunately,?Samuel Moores?opened a telegraph office that allowed brokers to communicate remotely.

In 1903, the doors of the NYSE opened with hundreds of stock certificates stored underground in vaults.

Despite the signs of economic stagnation, the stock market increased in 1928 and reached 50% growth. In 1929, on the so-called “Black Thursday”, the market fell by 11%. The market crash caused investors to panic, and it took the whole 1930s to recover from the crash. This period is known as the Great Depression.

Although the NYSE was founded centuries ago by a few traders, but many investors, stock managers, companies and regulators have helped for its growth and to become what it is today.

But now, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) is the oldest stock exchange in the world, with approximately 1.46 billion shares traded each day, and around 2,800 companies are traded, from blue chips to new companies with high growth have made their shares tradable.

The NYSE is open for trade, from Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The stock exchange is closed during some of the holidays in the United States. When these days fall on Saturday, The NYSE is sometimes closed on the Friday, and when the holiday falls on a Sunday, the NYSE may be closed on the following Monday.
