WYNTK: NFC Lisbon, Biden vetoes Crypto Bill, AI & Elections

Last week, I had the pleasure of flying out to Lisbon for NFC Summit ! My Co-CEO Debbie Soon & I took the mainstage to share how blockchain technology can help artists and creatives build sustainable careers. I got to share so many stories and examples of the artists we work with at HUG (acq. dotART) , who continue to inspire me every single day with their imagination, ingenuity, and love of technology.

Oh, and because I am me, what was the first thing I did when I got back from Portugal? Well, I couldn't find a race to drop in on when I was in Lisbon so... I flew back to the States and ran a 50K race with my friends ??

Out of 200 people, only 67 of us finished. I was one of only 3 women over the age of 40 to complete the race! When I started this journey about 2 years ago, I could hardly run a mile. It's an old metaphor and silly to use in the context of running, but applies to art just as well - the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step! Whatever it is you are set on doing, keep doing it. However far you get is farther than if you had never started at all. You got this.

Today, the legal debate over crypto continues on as Joe Biden vetoes bill that would overturn SAB 121, stating that the bill would constrain th eSEC's ability to set forth appropriate guardrails in the future. He shares that his administration is eager to ensure a comprehensive and balanced regulation framework for cryptocurrency and digital assets.

The future of crypto will be determined by two things: innovation and legislation. Whether you're an investor or an artist or a little bit of both, we all need to play by the rules... unfortunately, a lot of those rules are still being written. Be sure to pay attention!

There's no denying that technology's influence on culture heavily influences elections. The last few election cycles were subject to social media and living in what many call a "post-truth era", where information is limitless but the truth is more relative than ever.

AI is already setting impressions on voters, and unfortunately, they're not genuine. With AI technology readily accessible, recent months have seen an increase in "voice cloning" of political figures. Voice clones to manipulate voters through convincing but artificial audio of candidates and political figures.
