Wynn Resorts has confirmed the opening of the UAE's first casino, set to be larger than Las Vegas, in 2026

Authorities are creating gaming?rules in the style of the United States quickly, and the forthcoming Wynn Marjan will have little trouble establishing its UAE casino.
In the group's Q3 2022 earnings call this week, Wynn Resorts CEO Craig Billings stated, "We definitely don't want to under-build the casino." “The casino component, where at least for some period of time, we will be operating on our own, which makes it quite exciting is shaping up to be somewhat larger than Wynn Las Vegas, but with numerous pockets of energy and compression.”
Billings stated?that the Wynn Marjan, which is scheduled to open in 2026 on the abandoned Dream Island of RAK, will include a casino that is around 18,500 square meters in size. This means?the facility would rank among the ten largest in the world and be nearly twice as large?as the one in Wynn's Las Vegas resort.
UAE Casino's?enormous potential?
In the Q3 results call, Billings stated that the company is devoting a significant amount of time and attention to the UAE project and that “[it is] a very high return opportunity for us we expect. And so, that’s really the focus of our design and development efforts at the moment.”
The hospitality executive had earlier in the year praised the connection and variety of Dubai, RAK, and the emirates.?

"The UAE is already a substantial destination for not only the region but for Europe, for Brits, for Germans, for really folks from all over the place. So this is a significant customer acquisition opportunity and a really material extension of our brand". He added
“When we open that property, 95 percent of the world’s population will be within an eight-hour flight of a Wynn Resorts property.”
RAK's?Department of Entertainment and Gaming Regulation?
The resort's announcement coincided with the establishment of a section under the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) devoted to the management of "integrated resorts in the emirate," which includes the future hotel.?
The division will be in charge of managing hotel operations, conferences, entertainment, dining, spa services, retail stores, and gaming facilities. According to RAKTDA, the new Department of Entertainment and Gaming Regulation would address licensing, taxes, operating processes, and consumer protections while taking into account the social, cultural, and environmental context of the emirate.?
The statement said, “The foremost priority of this new division is to create a robust framework that will ensure responsible gaming at all levels”
