Anggie Salazar
Partner at CROING l Founder of the Women Who Network Initiative l Keynote Speaker
Hi Networkers! I'm Carolina Didulski , PR Director at CROING l Creative Agency founded by Alejandra Salazar. Welcome to Anggie’s newsletter, Women Who Network: Stories of Connection and Success.
To close out this season, we’re switching roles today—our host will become the guest of her own newsletter and podcast. So, let me introduce our special guest: Anggie Salazar, partner and VP of Marketing at CROING. Anggie leads the marketing strategies at CROING and has been a speaker at Latinas in Tech, and Ladies, Wine and Design, among others.
Why did we start this newsletter?
As Anggie always says, networking has played a key role in her career. Through many conversations, she has found that it’s an area where many women still don’t feel confident or need a little push to explore further.
At CROING, we’re motivated to inspire and empower professional women to feel more confident in networking. We believe that by sharing stories and experiences, we can encourage more women to connect and grow together.
I’m confident that Anggie’s story will inspire many women to embrace networking with greater confidence. ??
From Engineering to Marketing: Building your own journey
Carolina: So Anggie could you tell to your community when did you start networking, and how has your perspective evolved over time?
Anggie: My networking journey started with me looking to start my engineering career in a huge corporation called Halliburton, and I managed to start there thanks to networking via LinkedIn. It was the job of my dreams at the time and I spoke to people from the company there and I managed to get that amazing job.
After that I shifted to marketing and started working at CROING, my sister founded the agency, we were four when we started working together now we're almost a hundred. This growth journey has pushed me out of my comfort zone. I started attending industry events, connecting with others, and learning the importance of face-to-face interactions. Each encounter has not only expanded my network but has also deepened my understanding of the industry.
The Art of Follow-Up: Cultivating Connections that Count
Carolina: What strategies do you use to establish genuine and meaningful connections?
Anggie: I believe in the power of follow-up! After meeting someone new, I make it a point to send a follow-up email to keep the conversation going. It’s a simple gesture that shows I value the connection. I also take the initiative to introduce people within my network to each other. This not only strengthens my relationships but also creates a supportive community where we can all thrive together. Building genuine connections is about nurturing those relationships, not just collecting business cards.
Stories of Connection and Success: Anggie Salazar’s Edition
Carolina: Tell us about the most unexpected opportunity that has come from a networking event or connection
Anggie: One of the most memorable opportunities that I’ve had was when we got the chance to starte working with Diageo in creative ideas. It all started with a classmate from my school who began working there. When she learned about our agency, she recommended us for a project. This experience was a powerful reminder of the importance of keeping my network active, even with people I hadn’t interacted with in years. Many opportunities come from nurturing those connections, whether they were made yesterday or a decade ago.

Plus, each speaking engagement I’ve participated in has opened up new doors and collaborations, highlighting just how impactful networking can be.
Another one is how we started working with Sol de Janeiro, thanks to getting recommended by our client L’occitane to the Sol de Janeiro team, it was such an amazing recommendation we started working together in no time.
Anggie’s fav: Brandweek, Advertising Week and Cannes Lions Festival
Carolina: Anggie and do you have any favorite networking events or communities?
Anggie: Absolutely! Some of my favorite networking events revolve around the marketing and advertising industry. Brandweek by ADWEEK is an incredible opportunity to connect with innovative minds and industry leaders. It’s a melting pot of creativity and insights, where I always walk away inspired and with new connections. This year it took place in Arizona and I really enjoying meeting people and also interviewing amazing proffesional women. I uploaded a post about it ? https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/anggiecsalazar_brandweek-brandgenius-networking-activity-7245494794045509632--UxL?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
Advertising Week is another fantastic event. It brings together professionals from all corners of the marketing world, providing a platform for sharing knowledge and sparking meaningful conversations. The panels and workshops are incredibly valuable, and the networking opportunities are unmatched. Check this post about it: https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/anggiecsalazar_advertisingweek-activity-7249428252853776385-Jt4u?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
Of course, I can’t forget Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity That was my first business trip after having my baby and I was full of emotions haha. Attending this festival not only exposes me to the latest trends and creative breakthroughs but also allows me to connect with brilliant individuals from around the globe. The atmosphere is electric, and it’s a wonderful reminder of the power of creativity in our industry.
Each of these events has played a significant role in expanding my network and inspiring me to push the boundaries of what we can achieve in marketing. They truly embody the spirit of collaboration and innovation!
Empowering Women to Network
Carolina: So, from your experience, what advice would you give to women who are hesitant to engage in networking?
Anggie: Don’t be afraid to reach out to people! It can be intimidating at first, but remember that everyone was once a stranger. Keep in mind what you want to achieve with your networking efforts, and approach each interaction with genuine curiosity and warmth.
When I spoke at Latinas in Tech, I noticed many attendees asking how to introduce themselves to someone they didn’t know. That insight was eye-opening and sparked my initiative to share more about effective networking strategies. It’s all about building your confidence step by step. Networking is not just about exchanging information; it’s about building relationships that can lead to mutual growth and support. Thank you to our entire community and to the incredible women who have been part of Women Who Network: Stories of Connection and Success. We appreciate your support and engagement!
Stay tuned, as we will be back soon with a new season featuring more interviews, inspiring stories, and valuable insights.
As Anggie always says: Don’t forget, your network is your net worth.
Until next time, keep networking and growing!
