WWDC 2015 – iOS9 & more.

WWDC is Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), is a conference held annually in California by Apple Inc. The conference is used by Apple to showcase its new software and technologies for developers.
The big thing in last WWDC’14 was apple watch, iPhone 6/6 plus,OSX Yosemite & iOS 8. In this WWDC’15 Apple does not have launched something new device or new iPhone but this time they did very well in upgradation & improvement of current technology.
Let’s take a look to few of the announcement :
iOS 9: Apple announced iOS 9. iOS 9 will not come with much new functions but it will be enhancement for the existing features. As example apple Siri has become much more faster (40% ) than the last year & it can also handled over billions of requests.
- Better Battery life: In this OS system, apps & key technologies have been made in such way to trim the battery usage of your iOS device. Apple introduce low power mode to increase your battery life. For example, if you are running out of the battery & having very low battery life, so just turn on low power mode, it can increase your battery for around 3 additional hours.
- Siri: Till date we are using Siri as a helpful assistant to talk. But now Siri has become more intelligent with more powerful & intelligence searching. You can get more answer when you type on search field. Siri has new proactive suggestions which help you get things done before you ask. For example: If I’ll ask Siri “Hey Siri, show me the photos of my last birthday ” & you will get exactly what you want. Siri can also remind you for particular app or thing. You can ask siri like “Remind me about Mail, when I get to my car”.
- News: In iOS 9 Apple has introduced new app called “News”, Now you will be not restricted to one app at a time. News will collect all the stories , from all the sources you want based on your interested points, so you don’t need to switch more apps for more topics.
- Notes: Notes has been improved in this new iOS. You can add photo, map or URL to the map. You can also have checklist in Notes. You can see the listing of all the notes in image thumbnail. With the help of iCloud your Notes will be updated to all your Apple devices. From any of the app you can have the functionality of “Add to Notes”. You can also sketch or note it with photos.
- Maps: There are few improvements in Apple Map. You can use public transportation as your guide in this map. This map will come with new Transit view, which will display all the public transport route via lines and also with stations. It will have also “Near by”, to search various categories around you.
- Apple Pay: Now you can use more card with Apple Pay with more stores . Apple has also introduced Apple Pay in UK.
- Multitasking: Multitasking is one if the best feature on iOS 9. You can chat and read the safari at the same time. Suppose you are browsing something on safari, you can slide over there and reply to chat & slide over again to come back to the safari.
- Split View: In iPad 2 Air, you can have Split View which is one more step further. You can use the same app at the same time. While reading your mails you can also see any video.
- Smaller Update: This one is the great improvement. You don’t need much space to update iOS 9. While the required space in iOS 8 was 4.58 GB, in iOS 9 it will be only 1.3 GB.
- Faster & Efficient: iOS 9 will be much faster, efficient and will deliver faster scrolling, smoother animation, and better overall performance. Email, messages, web pages, and PDFs render faster. And multitasking features on iPad feel fluid and natural.
- Security: Now security in iOS 9 willbe more strengthen. It will come with two step security. One will be passcode & two factor authentication.
- Android Migration: Now it will be more easier to move from Android to iOS. Just download Move to iOS from your Android and move your android data to iOS device. It can transfer contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, calendars, wallpaper, and DRM-free songs and books. You can rebuilt your apps & your paid apps will be added to iTunes directly.
