12, September is the anniversary of iPhone and Apple has pull the wraps off new devices on the same day.
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- Apple Watch Series 3
- New Mac
- New MacBook Pro
- New iMac Pro
Here are the list of few important features announced in WWDC 17 Apple Developers need to know about:
Face ID
This secure new way to unlock, authenticate, and pay, lets users quickly access your app with just a glance. Face ID is simple to set up and is made possible by the TrueDepth camera, which projects and analyzes more than 30,000 invisible dots to create a facial map that is encrypted and protected by the Secure Enclave on the device.
Drag and Drop
Drag and drop takes advantage of the power of Multi-Touch, letting you move content between apps in a way that feels natural on iPad. Just tap and hold on an image, a file, or selected text and drag it to where you want it to go. You can also drag contacts, reminders, maps, and more.
New Files App
The new Files app provides a central space for users to browse, search, and organize files — including files in your apps, on other iOS devices, in iCloud Drive, and across other services like Box and Dropbox. Users can open files right from within your app with the new, standard document manager in iOS 11. Take advantage of service-specific APIs from cloud storage providers and use iCloud Sharing to let users easily share their files.
Business Chat
Business Chat connects businesses with their customers to answer questions, schedule appointments, make payments with Apple Pay, and more. Business Chat makes the connection with customers possible by integrating with the business’s existing customer contact center.
With Business Chat, a customer discovers a business using Apple apps, services, and features (for example, Siri, Maps, Safari, and Spotlight), then chats with the business using the Messages app on their Apple device.
Before your company can use Business Chat, you must register the company with Apple. If you plan to use Business Chat to communicate with your customers, you must choose a Customer Server Platform (CSP) when registering. If your company is a CSP with plans to offer Business Chat features to its customers, select Customer Service Platform as the business type instead of choosing a CSP.
After registration is approved, you can use Business Chat Sandbox to try out Business Chat features. With the sandbox, you can plan and test your customer's experience and inspect the JSON sent between servers.
Subtitle of the App in Apple App Store
Your app's subtitle appears below your app name throughout the App Store in iOS 11. A subtitle can be up to 30 characters long, and is intended to summarise your app in a concise phrase. Avoid generic descriptions such as “world’s best app.” Instead, consider using your subtitle to highlight features or typical uses of your app that resonate with your audience.
You can update your app’s subtitle when submitting a new version of your app.
