World Travel Market London has been going for 40 years. It is a bit of beast but what constantly shines through, whenever I attend, is the passion and enthusiasm that exhibitors show for their countries and products. Here are eight highlights from my 2019 visit:
1) Chornobyl Tour – a very unique experience and completely safe I was assured.
2) Skiing in Serbia – Kapoanik offering budget skiing breaks from Belgrade. This resort has grown a lot since I last came across it but not sure about their claim to be 3 hours from London. Worth considering if you are looking to ski somewhere different this winter.
3) Tottenham Experience – Spurs have seen over 40K plus visitors to the new stadium tours in the last 3 months – COYS!
4) Blazing Saddles – wonderful brand name for cycle tours in 2 iconic US cities.
5) Water-to-Go – a great product and a passionate team led by their CEO. Just disappointing to see some airline stands giving out their branded single use water bottles to their clients.
6) Moke – re-engineered for the 21st century. Loved seeing this car up close and hearing about it's revival. This is on my vehicle bucket list (after the next camper van!).
7) Skiathos Yachting – I think that my next flotilla might be around the Sporades islands of Greece. Sounded idyllic with more breeze than the Ionian islands.
8) M Tours – I worked with this business in my first year of travel back in 1996. Great to see them still exhibiting and promoting Lake Bled. Congrats to Miroslav and his team on their continued success.
Lots of interesting Travtech on display as well but I’ll cover that in a future article.
