I don;'t give a rats toss-bag about which ad agency was responsible for the "Don't feel sorry for old mate." campaign.My question is this.
When the agency and the South Australian Tourism Commission met .. and the ad was shown in the board room on a giant screen, what was the reaction from the those representing the SATC.
Anything less that "WHAT THE F$CK IS THAT" is totally unacceptable.
Just when we need hope, happiness, motivation, a sense of pride in our lives we are offered sad, depressing and dark messages.
Ad agencies are full of people who think out of the square, they apparently think in an amazingly creative way .... and come up with concepts that challenge our thinking, shock us and in turn generate publicity.
But often we need to throw away our creative hat and stick to the basics, and work with the bleeding obvious.
But what worries me more, is that there are actually people defending the add, including our Premier.
The ad indicates to me that being old is a sad and depressing concept.
How the f#ck did this happen, who is ultimately responsible, what were they thinking.
Clearly they weren't thinking at all.
And just as an aside. how unfair on this man, who I am sure had good intentions when he agreed to the commercial, to now be associated with something that has been widely lambasted by among others people his own age, rather than a concept that offers something we can be proud of.WTF

5 年This ad is a disgrace and an insult against our ageing community, our state and every generation who lives here. Did this come out of the Melbourne based crowd that SA tourism outsourced to???? We can do a lot better than this SA!
