What is DATAx and why is it important?
DATAx New York City is a new event from Innovation Enterprise, designed to inspire and empower business leaders to unlock the power of AI and data science.
On 12-13th December we will open our doors for the first time to more than 700 guests and over 100 speakers. It will be the first of a series of festivals that will be rolled out in 2019 in London, San Francisco, Singapore, Chicago and Hong Kong.
What is DATAx?
Artificial Intelligence and the data that it runs on is rapidly sweeping through and forever changing industries. Machine learning algorithms - in particular deep learning - is having a profound impact now as the long-awaited promise of AI finally becomes a reality.
The global business value of AI is already estimated to be $1.2 trillion in 2018, and rising to $3.9 trillion by 2022. (Gartner)
The impact of AI will be felt differently across industries. Here is a breakdown from McKinsey which explains how deep neural networks can be used to improve performance beyond that provided by other analytic techniques. The difference from industry-to-industry is driven in part by how readily available the data is.
In AI Superpowers Kai-Fu Lee sets out that within ten to twenty years AI is "technically capable of automating 40 to 50 percent of jobs in the United States". With actual job losses has been estimated as closer to 20-25% by Bain and Company, it is no wonder that AI is being described as 'the fourth industrial revolution'.
An ecosystem of brands, platforms and technology vendors has built around AI, which DATAx events will bring together under one roof.
Here are some of the highlights for next week's event...
