Whenever you want to earn profits, the first thing that you do is invest in something that will give you recurring income, or the invested amount will be multiplied shortly. This is an investment and nothing to be glorified about how much you invest. You must celebrate if it gets multiplied in the shortest time, beyond reasonable expectation.
I am not a trader but I make regular stocks and mutual funds investments. If not used for more than a month, most of my money goes into short-duration mutual funds, and my stock investment is also for the long term.
I am happy only when I see my money grow. Otherwise, it is not so exciting.?
When it comes to patents, you invest in R&D and Patenting activity. Investment is done. Unfortunately, unlike stocks and mutual funds, you won't get your invested money back.?It is spent, gone.?
Now, these patents should generate a review, which should be more than what is invested.?If not, then it is a loss.?
Most of the spending is utilized by the employees to build their profile in the form of Patent count and number.?Success is celebrated based on the number of patents filed; it is just the spending or the investment done. Nothing has returned yet.?
Correct me if I am wrong.
As a businessman, I want to see how my money increases/grows. If you can make more money with a similar investment in stocks, then your decision to invest in patents should be wrong. Isn't it??
Yes, you can remain optimistic for some time,?but you cannot fool yourself for over a decade if you are still investing in a patent and wondering what you got in return.?

R&D is something different, and please don't entangle patents with R&D.?
As stated several times, the patent is a negative right. The only way to earn from patents is by using them to prevent competition, thereby increasing the market share. Licensing happened only when?
Time to re-think before spending more on patents and glorifying your investment, which remains intangible in terms of return.
I would love to see your comments, specifically for business owners.
Thank you,
