Finding your story:

1. Pick the event(s) you will put into your story.
2. Consider the message/lesson you learned.
3. What characteristics did that experience create for you?

• Attention is the new currency.
• Create an experience with your story. We all have a story. Go back to your life - Result of that defining moment in life, your life is forever changed. Nothing is the same again. Before this, after this...
• Monetize your story.
• A good story - Distract; Dispute; Inspire.
• Don't let what you want to say to the audience get in the way of what your audience want/need to hear.
• Don't let the opinions of others be your reality.
• Who are you? Why are you here? Where are you going? Who is going with you?
• Tell the story with power/feeling/conviction and humor.
• Who are you? What do you have? Why should I care?
• Discipline and Determination.
• Great speakers are great listeners. Listen to your audience and their stories, and connect their stories/aspirations with your stories and presentations.

How to choose your story?

• The point of your story is to inspire and educate.
• The point of your story is to leave a lasting impression.
• The point of your story is to leave a memorable lesson.
• The point of your story is to position yourself as an expert or a 'journeyman' - walking with your audience (their achievement/success/desires - anchor on the positive) with your story and creating an experience.
• Ask key questions - to create connectedness with your audience.
