Writing Tip #9: Celebrate success!

Hi everyone,

We hope you've had a good week so far. Our summer term creative writing courses have got off to a fantastic start this week. My son is part of one of the classes and I was gobsmacked yesterday when he woke up early to finish his story. It was a first! He then waited eagerly to receive feedback from the tutor, which was so wonderful for me to witness as it showed the positive impact that tutor feedback can have on student motivation.

Our top tip is to celebrate writing success! Remember that writing is personal. When children write creatively, they share their own thoughts, feelings, experiences and perspectives. Ensure you take the time to celebrate their achievements so they feel inspired to continue exploring and expressing themselves through writing.

Creative Writing Course Feedback

We have received some amazing feedback from parents this week and I wanted to share one with you. This student attended our Years 2-3 Imaginative Ideas Club with us last term:

My daughter looked forward to her weekly lessons and enjoyed doing her homework! The structure of the course is so well thought out and planned. It keeps the child engaged and allows unlimited exploration and expansion of ideas and creativity! My daughter is totally obsessed with her imaginative ideas book. She keeps it on her desk in prime real estate position and is forever adding to it. We’ve created extra pages of different emotions and exposure to wider vocabulary. Feedback from homework is detailed and very informative for progression. The best thing about Bright Light Education is that there really is no ceiling with the expansion of my daughter’s imagination. Progression is encouraged and celebrated. The work can be heightened exactly to her level and she is forever reaching to use new vocabulary and expand writing skills. Highly, highly recommend!!

Creative Writing Clubs for Key Stage 2 children

This week, another school in the UK requested to use our Desert Island Discovery Club within their Year 4 writing intervention classes. We are currently offering this club and our Amazing Amazon Adventure Club to schools for FREE. These clubs:

  • are delivered by in-house teaching staff, meaning that schools can choose when to teach, how many children can participate and whether or not they charge parents.
  • consist of high-quality ready-to-deliver PowerPoints and resources.

If you are a teacher and would like to try out one of our clubs, please send us an email or LinkedIn message.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best wishes,

Dani
