Short tales: Moving on

Short tales: Moving on

There was nothing spectacular about the morning, yet it felt different today. Just like the previous mornings the red rose stood by itself in the large pot of soil. It didn’t seem lonely to me anymore. It looked like the dew and she are making merry together. Like usual, the pigeons flapped their wings on the edges of my balcony. Yet today they looked like they had been waiting in anticipating for me. Gushes of amusement engulf me while I watch my hungry guests peck on the grains.

I stand at the balcony feeling differently today. Like usual I sip away my coffee watching the streets go alive with the bustle of city dwellers. But what felt different today was the realisation that I had to shove the weight of a broken relationship off my shoulders, that I had to re-discover myself; And find the inner strength to harbour my broken heart from all the hurt caused because of unfulfilled promises. I felt different today because I had finally found the path that would take me away from the shadows of loneliness to the ray of sunshine.
