Writing Own Life Story

I received a kind invitation to write a chapter describing the storyline of my life.

I realize any story that describes tensions that one passes through is as strong as these tensions are.

A story has a protagonist and an antagonist. The protagonist has a dream to fulfil that the antagonist resists. Tension starts from there.

What I discovered is sometimes the hero and the antagonist are the same one.?I had dreams and wanted to achieve them. When I stumbled, I tended to blame external factors such as bad luck, lack of resources and discouragement from friends.

When I realized that, I allowed depression to dominate me and gave up prematurely and for no good reason that the antagonist resided inside me. I had to win against myself.

Feeling of depression and despair spread fast and cloud our minds and hearts. They block the mind and close possibilities.

Winning against depression and despair was the gateway to turn challenges into great successes.

The deeper we go in despair we shall have greater story to share with the world.?

Dear Ali, I apologize for the delay in response to this beautiful, enlightening writing of a bit of your life story. I can identify with every word, especially the antagonist vs the protagonist, and this: “When I realized that, I allowed depression to dominate me and gave up prematurely and for no good reason that the antagonist resided inside me. I had to win against myself”. Exactly right on my friend. We have to win against ourselves. This is pure gold: “The deeper we go in despair we shall have a greater story to share with the world if we turn this despair to bright hopes”. Thank you for sharing a piece of you. You are greatly loved and respected.

There is an assessment on PositiveIntelligence.com that helps one identify their “saboteurs” to success. They are the root of our blockages and understanding them can help us overcome them. We all have dreams and aspirations living inside us, along with having challenges of life that will test us and our commitment to fulfilling our purpose. Sometimes the challenges can even reveal our purpose. When the challenges are great and we press on and overcome, and inspire others with it, we walk the path of The Heroes Journey. I have no doubt you have inspired many Ali Anani, PhD. I know you inspire me. ???????

A strong and brave post, Ali Anani, PhD, opening the question of why we so often become our own worst enemy? What are the voices, the shoulding, the commands, the messages we have picked up that give material to the antagonist - but might not be true at all? Or we interpreted something someone said in completely a wrong way because we were 5-10 years old and knew no better. And that mistake has been carried around weighing on us for decades. I only realized lately that I had adopted a STEM superiority mindset that I picked up when I was 14 from a language teacher - of all people. Probably a misinterpretation, but I still remember the event coloring my thinking.

We are a wolf ?? and a lamb ?? both residing in us how one take control and survive on the other it depends on which side you are feeding well. Have a critical voice is helpful and knowing how to block it out is even more helpful. Our nonstop negative logic's and rationals is an incredible ability a boon to our survival but also comes with a dark side when you get stuck with your thinking listening to your mind solely rather than going to the world to see reality to know that is not everything your mind tells you is the truth . Unwanted thoughts has to be control or can trigger situations that can lead to depression anxiety and unwanted behavior . Is not everything that pass through your mind id valuable. Don't forget baggage in baggage out. Control your emotions, your values and put them to use for your own benefits and profits all . Don't forget you're your own Wolf ?? or your own Lamb ?? Thanks ????
