For the 4-5 hours I wrote today - focusing on fleshing out more of chapter one - I ended the day with a gain of about 1545 words from where I last left off. So chapter one now has a total of 3492 words - with more to go to finish the chapter for sure. That helps to make up the last few weeks of little writing productivity. It's also an example of just how the world of writing is when you have to squeeze it between your home life, professional career and everything in between. Keep in mind that my weekly goal is about 500 words per week and that I'm targeting to have a first draft manuscript completed by September 2018 - not too far away.
By the way, that's not what I would call an "edit ready" manuscript. An edit-ready manuscript is one that is ready for the editor to do their work. I might revise the manuscript 2-3 times before I feel I can no longer add any more writing value to it. I'm only on chapter one - so I've got to get going if I want to have at a first draft ready by end of September. That means I have roughly another 38,763 more words to go.
Ah, the writing life.
