Writing about myself is weird

It's time for an introduction!???
Writing about myself is weird…
But since I work with something no one else does I have to introduce myself to you and spread my word all over social media, to influence people to do good business.
I’m a late bloomer, turning 45 in December…so no judgment, please :-)??????????
My name is Eva and I am an Entrepreneur and Business Strategist who helps executives, businesses, and entrepreneurs future-proof their companies. ????????
I was born in Sweden but my DNA is a mix of Hungarian, Greek, and I believe a little bit of Turkish too. I consider myself being a world citizen and I simply love to travel the world and meet people!
Lifechanging words…
When I was 12 years old, I listened to a conversation between my mother and her boss. Her name was Marianne. They both worked in a chemical analytical department and my mother's boss was about 35 years old, a single woman with two daughters.
What I heard was something that has changed my life ever since then.
She told my mother how grateful she was for having a position in society that allowed her to afford to divorce her husband and afford her freedom.
Afford to divorce?!! and afford to her freedom?? Maybe you understand why these words strongly affected me…
That's when I decided to get a good education and a career so that I would never ever, have to feel that I didn't have the freedom to do what I wanted to do. To live MY dream. To own my Freedom.
I followed my parents' footsteps and educated myself to become an engineer and became a pharmaceutical company manager only 23 years old and from there advancing my career.
Strong family ties…
My childhood has been characterized by strong family ties and clear values. Our shared family dream was to spend our summer vacation together and travel every year to Europe and visit a new country to learn about new cultures and to expand our consciousness about the world we lived in. And we managed to do that every single year.
During the 1990s, both my parents were affected by unemployment and we got it very scarcely financially. All of a sudden, we could not afford any luxuries at all. We could almost not pay our bills. Birthday presents or Christmas gifts were out of the question. But - we never gave up on our dream.

So what we did was to sit down around our kitchen table and talk through how we could continue our common dream of exploring Europe together. That's when my brother and I decided to help our parents make money for our travel-and-vacation-cash.
As a 13-year-old girl, I started distributing advertisements, selling the evening post, and cleaning up late evenings with my parents. And we managed to travel every year – for 5 weeks by car on vacation to Europe.
I’m a true believer in the saying “If you can dream it – you can achieve it! But you have to do the work”!
My zone of genius…???????
I originally studied Chemical Engineering and worked as a Production Manager in a pharmaceutical company and became a Manager only 23 years old. I then discovered leadership and there was no turning back from leading people. However, after 7 years in the pharma industry, I was longing to also understand the business so I decided to shift track to Consulting. I built a Consulting business within technology, management, quality and was leading a business with 300 M SEK in turnover.
I realized that building businesses were my zone of genius – I loved everything about it, the start-up, the growth, and the turnaround. So with a full-time job, I also decided to do an MBA.

The Dream…??
About 12 years ago at age 32, I had a physical dream that I woke up to. My ex-husband Roger and I were traveling in Thailand during our parental leave and one night I dreamed that I was asking myself a question: What is my purpose in life? What should I work with? – and I answered myself in a very clear voice that I should work for the United Nations.
The dream was so strong and strange that I simply sat up in bed. The next day I told Roger about my dream and he said simply - what will you do there ?? Because I had never talked about the UN. I hardly knew, then, what the UN was doing. I even had to google what the UN is doing… completely crazy… .and discovered that the UN is big, complex, politically difficult but also that the UN is doing good things for the world. I also saw that there were lots of services to apply for, BUT it was impossible to understand all the codes and terms and all the paper exercises required to make an application. Crazy! So I still remember today how I merged my computer and pushed it aside. Because I thought, this was not possible!

puh... I realize that my story is long. After all, it started when I was 12 years old ...
So, please bear with me and let me continue tomorrow.

3 年Thanks for sharing the first part of your fantastic story! And as of what happened next, didn't you then bump into a man who actually worked for the UN, at that place in Thailand you were at, and who introduced you to the whole shebang? In a kind of synchronistic fashion. :-)
